Have you ever woken up without a plan on a Saturday morning and had it turn it to one of the best days you can remember in a really long time? That is what happened to me this past Saturday November 12, 2011.  It all started when I woke up before my kids, and turned on the computer. I went to my Facebook pages to check the updates from the Doll World and saw that Cinnamon of Liberty Jane was going to be at the American Girl Doll store in Seattle from 2-3 and at the same time my husband woke up and said, “I feel like going down south today, how long would it take to get everyone ready?” I said “that would be great, I want to meet someone at the American Girl Doll store between 2-3 can we do it?” he said “sure” I said “give me 20 minutes”.

Twenty minutes later we were all in the car heading south on the 3 hour trek from my house to the American Girl doll store in Seattle. As some of you may know I am a Canadian living in Canada so to go to Seattle requires a passport and a patient family!

We stopped for lunch at the Golden Corral restaurant, which we had not been to before. It was so great the kids loved it and I got to meet some families who had just been to the store and had their dolls with them in the restaurant. I had so much fun introducing myself to their parents and handing them some of my photo post cards and doll hair accessories I carry with me to hand out to American Girl doll fans when I meet up with them. After that it was 30 minutes to the store!

When I got to the American Girl Store it was a bit of a mob scene. You see, not only were Cinnamon and her family of Liberty Jane fame there, but Ali of Girl of the Year Studios was also there signing autographs. Ali is also a recipient of the Doll Diaries Spotlight award!

Cinnamon’s oldest daughter and Cinnamon’s husband were filming the event and even let me have a wave on camera during their event. If you watch the movie I am at 7:40 into the filming.

After the impromptu meet and greet I got to tour the store and take photos of the wonderful holiday items the store has to offer this season.

American Girl Holiday Outfits 2011

While I was there I will admit I was overwhelmed. The store was so busy and I could have easily gotten carried away with shopping. I did purchase the Hanukah Gift set http://store.americangirl.com/agshop/html/item/id/140832/ctc/SI (I am not of the Jewish faith but I have wanted this doll play item since it came out!)

These outfits were my favorite and are stunning in person.

American Girl Polar bear Sweater

I am always a big fan of store exclusives and this one is so adorable. With the purchase of $50 in store you can purchase this outfit for only $14. I really wished I had purchased it when I was there. It is so cute!

They had so many other wonderful holiday outfits including:

American Girl Frosty Party Outfit

The Frosty Party Outfit

American Girl Merry and Bright

The Merry and Bright Dress (shown without the shawl and mitts in this photo)

American Girl Seattle holiday display

I also loved the Pet Sets packaged for the holidays.

I had such a great time today and I am so happy to be able to share these photos from my trip with you. If you get a chance to pop into any of the American Girl stores this holiday season, be sure to leave yourself a lot of time and take your camera. And you never know who you will meet when you are there!

Note from Char: I am so excited that these awesome ladies all got to meet up at one of their favorite places! That being said, I wish I was there. Since we live on the opposite side of the country that was certainly not going to happen. However, if we head up to the American Girl store at Tyson’s Corner, does anyone want to know ahead of time? I’m not sure if we will be going before Christmas, but we will definitely be going up early in January.
