Karen here and this year one of my boys asked me to make him a costume of his favorite candy and when I was done I knew it would be cute as a doll sized one too!
To make your own costume you will need:
-White Felt or Fun Foam or Paper
-Fun Foam in Red, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Green and Brown
-A Pair of Scissors
-A Low temp glue gun
-24 inches of Ribbon
Step 1- Assemble all your supplies and plug in your glue gun.
Step 2- Cut out a brown piece of felt 10 inches long by 6 inches wide, cut a white piece of fun foam, felt or paper 4 inches by 7 inches these are the main parts of the costume.
Step 3- Out of the brown felt Free hand cut out two letter M’s and one & sign (this took me a while to figure out, you could print these letters out on your computer to use as a pattern to trace to make it easier) , Then cut a Red Circle that is 2 1/2 inches wide.
Step 4- Out of the brown cut a small smile out for the smile on the Red Circle
Step 5- Out of white cut one small letter M and the arm, two hands and eyes for your Circle
Step 6- Use your glue gun to attach your white to your brown in the center of your felt. Then Add your letters, glue them into place
Step 7- Next glue your circle into place at the bottom right of the white rectangle, add the arm, hands and letter m, then the eyes, smile and then cut small red eyelids to go over your eyes and glue them into place.
Step 8- Use a sharpie to make the eyeball pupils on your eye shapes.
Step 9- Cut out two small red, blue, orange, yellow, green and brown circles, these will be your candy pieces to glue into place on the top and bottom sides of your costume. Glue them in to place.
Step 10- Cut two 12 inch strips of ribbon and glue one end to the back side of your treat bag costume, it is up to you if you want the red circle to be on the top of the costume or the bottom, I made mine on the bottom. Once dry you can tie the costume around your dolls neck.
Thank you to my son Oli for this great idea this Halloween and for allowing me to borrow his costume I made for this photo and for taking the photo too! I hope you have a safe and fun Halloween!
