Kansas City Gets Next American Girl Place

American Girl must be having success with their smaller Boutique and Bistro versions of the flagship stores as they are opening yet another one this fall in the Kansas City area.

According to KansasCity.com:

The ultra-popular American Girl has doll shops in only eight of the country’s top cities — and soon Overland Park will be the ninth.

The Wisconsin-based company, which designs historical and contemporary dolls, will open a 9,500-square-foot “experiential” retail store this fall in Oak Park Mall. It will take part of the former Rainforest Café space on the north side of the mall.

A complete press release can also be found on the American Girl site (read).

  1. Lena says:

Now make one in Orlando… *attemps to hypnitize AG*

  2. Mallory says:

I wish they’d make one where I live! Secondie! :D

  3. Jessie says:

I think they will earn lots of money in Florida and maybe even PN(because they don’t have any store there).

I’m SURE they know store in Florida=lots of money. Theme parks in Florida makes TONS of money, which means AG will, too.
BUT I’m asking AG:Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy not Florida? I think AG’s making store for money, and Florida means they’ll make lots of money and make people happy.

Plus I think visiting theme parks in Florida and AG Place(BB is too small for Florida) will be dream come true or something!

  4. Jessie says:

And weird…Kansas is close to Colorado!
(But Denver isn’t close to Kansas City).

Plus I just found out that Florida has lot more population than Kansas…there are many states that have more population than kansas,so hopefully,AG will make more stores there.

I think AG B&B(Although I’m not SURE if it will include bistro) Kansas will be last AG store opening for this year….SADLY! But I guess there will be 1 or 2 stores coming up next year.
But there might be none,I guess.

  5. Lena says:

Just so you know, Orlando is where all the theme parks are in FL.

  6. meg says:

cool i think ag is the number 1 dolls now . i am going to go to ag place in summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is the newyork one in mall of amercan thanks.

  7. Gabriella says:

You know where AG should put one? In Pittsburgh! I visited there a few times and it is so busy at the Benedum Theater! They should put one there! I’d love that!

  8. Alyssa says:

I sent the Knassas aritcle to Char!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for posting it!. Hope they make one in The King Of Prussia Mall in King Of Prussia Pa next year because that is the second biggest mall in the Usa..

  9. Char says:

Thanks so much for sending it in, too!

  10. Gabby says:

Wow! That’s going to be a lot of AG places! Soon, I bet there will be one in almost every state!

  11. karis says:

Why do they keep making so many stores! Sorry people who want one where they live, but soon, AG will not be as unique. By making more stores, then its not as hard to get AG stuff. Sorry, thats just what I think.

  12. Lena says:

And by making so many stores, people will buy more. That is all Mattell cares about, money.

  13. Ava says:

I can just imagine an AG store in shopping center next to a Sears. Hopefully it won’t come to that.

  14. Anna says:

    I hope Milwaukee is next!

  15. Lena says:

The Atlanta one is in a regualr mall that’s much smaller then the Florida Mall here (granted, Florida Mall is geared for tourists, with a built in hotel) and get this: the Atlanta one is located within a hundred yards of…. a Sears.

  16. Grace says:

I wish the ag store in Chicago wasnt by a Victoria’s Secret. Girls as young as 5 shop at A.G. and Victorias secret is um…not for girls that age.
But that’s where stephenswodadancer lives, which I heard about it from her on her you tube.

  17. Grace says:

But i sure hope they make one in FL becuz my family mite vacation there in the future :D

  18. Grace says:

So Lena, how hot is it in FL? Here it is 88 degrees :O

  19. Julia says:

They could make one in Myrtle Beach. alot of ppl go there. True, I know Orlando would get alot more business then Myrtle Beach but they already have one in Florida, don’t they? (I think they do but I’m not that sure) Oh well, Kansas City is getting closer!! Or maybe one in Charlette, NC (i kno bad spelling) or Raleigh! Those places are a good distance off but still, on that rate I could go once every month! Maybe even Durham! That would be like so awesome! Or Danville, Virginia! (Sorry I know I’m just daydreaming lol)

  20. Lena says:

They don’t have one in FL, otherwise I wouldn’t have to drive all the way to Atlanta for dolly needs.

Right now its about 95 degrees in Orlando.

  21. Kyra says:

they put them in random states now they sould be random enough to put one in Arizona

    yay :)

  22. Ana says:

It’s good that there will be one in Kanas.

  23. joely says:

lena i agree with you on the whole orlando thing i live in orlando too they would make a ton of money i mean think they could open one right next to disney and all the little girls would love getting to do both plus it would save me begging my parents to take me to atlanta

  24. Sarah says:

They should put one in more than 9 places… like maybe Oregon! Haha. 8)

  25. Grace says:

Anna-Milwaukee, WI? If so, me too.

  26. Sarah says:

If they put one in Oregon it would probally be in Portland. Thats not where I live but I live a couple of hours away from there. It would be there because #1 thats the capital/biggest city #2 theres a huge mall there and #3 theres tons and tons of tourist that go there and springfield! They’d make tons of $. 8)

  27. Jessie says:

    Sarah,I AGREE!
Plus making one in Portland means no tax in the store!
(And I think some Washingtonians will be also happy because it’s close…
Maybe people who live in Spokane WA or Medford OR won’t be THAT happy because it’s kind of far away but still………………………………!!!

And Orlando AGP is possibly Best way to make money. And all AG cares about is MONEY.
AG should make biggest AGP in the history of AG in Orlando(to go with Disney World).
If I get to go to AGP,and Orlando’s theme parks,I think it will be a best vacation ever!

  28. Lena says:

The probably won’t make it in Disney, but if they do, Virgin Music Store in Downtown Disney went out of business last year, that place would be perfect for an AGP.

But I more see them making one in Millenia or Florida malls, they seen to be the best places to cash in on both Disney and Universal tourists.

  29. Ava says:

My mom’s always saying there should be an AG store in San Francisco. That would be smart because it gets A LOT of tourism.

Here it’s about 50 degrees here. The Bay area isn’t as sunny as people think.

  30. MARILYN says:

HOPEFULLY one day they will have an ag place in every state i belive there will be one day just like starbucks its everywhere and borders and Justice there will be one day now who agrees?

  31. MARILYN says:

TO Alyssa – i totaly agree i go there all the time to king of prusiia its awsome

  32. Michaela says:

AG should totally make one in King of Prussia, because I live nearby!

And Ava, AG probably wouldn’t do that, since there’s already one in LA. I like that idea, though. ;)

  33. Ava says:

San Francisco is in Northern California, which is far from LA. Plus the Boston one and the NYC one are pretty close to each other and no seems to mind.

  34. Mackenzie says:

I also do have to agree w/ Karis, though. i am lucky, because i live about 2 hours away from a store.

  35. Ana says:

I totally agree Sarah! AG needs to make a store in Oregon or Washington.

  36. Alexis says:

Well, I agree with Sarah too, but I also think FL would be a good spot for one.

  37. Julia says:

I live about 8 hours so no hope for me…

  38. Alyssa says:

They should make one in Philadelphia Pa. It is where America was first born. I do not know where they would put it. My best guess if they ever make in that area one it would be At The King Of Prussia Mall in King Of Prussia Pa. It is the second biggest mall in the USA. They used to have a FAO Schuratz there but it moved out when it went bankrupet in 2004. I rember always going there with my family every weekend to by Barbies.

They should also make ones in Alantic City N J or Las Vegas NV. I do not understand why chiago is next to a bra store and they do not put one in those cities.

Char are you putting the monster high article this weekend not to bother you but i think Grace and Lena would like it too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy memorial day to everyone. i am just hanging out with my family all weekend.

I am now puting a link to to the new monster high dolls website! Nothing about the dolls on the website yet!!!!!! But I sent Char a link to pictures to the dolls!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope she posts soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  39. Lena says:

Actually, I would like to see an article on Monster High dolls.

American wasn’t “born” in Philly. It was “born” by the people who lived here before the Europeans.

  40. Grace says:

    What are Monster High dolls?!

  41. Jasmin says:

I wish they make a American Girl store in Rocklin CA. So instead of girls going to Los Angeles they dont have to go that far. I’d really be happy if they made one in Rocklin. I would be spending my time in the AG store every weekend!!! SUMMER IS HERE!!! YAY!!

  42. Alyssa says:

Grace,Monster High dolls are Mattel’s verison of Bratz since Mattel got the rights to use the Bratz Molds. There are oufits, books, and cartoons too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grace, Did you ever get Soni? I hear she is a nice doll.

Lena, I ment when American became it’s own nation.

    Jasmin,Where is Rocklin Ca?

  43. Ava says:

So they’re monster-girl-doll things that you can dress up? WHY WERE THESE NOT AROUND WHEN I WAS A KID? They are so awesome!!

  44. Alyssa says:

Ava, They are nice. I read online that the age group is 6-14 So i am still old enogh to play with them

  45. MARILYN says:

to alyssa i know rite i emailed american girl to put one in philly bcause also many people go there to see the statue of liberty and all the stuff like the mint there were like thanks we will keep you opinons for the further futre i was like wowo

  46. Lena says:

The Satue of Liberty is in New York….

Alayssa, age groups mean nothing. I know 47 year olds who play with AG and they lead otherwise perfectly normal lives.

Speaking of, I want Laura to rename her and make her a proper vampire… and her best friend Clawdeena for the lulz.

  47. Sarah says:

I know right Jessie? They’de make tons of money! I almost get tired of how many tourist there are in Oregon! Plus we don’t have like any big stores here! The only big store is and there just now putting it in is Cabellas! (I hope I spelled that right) It’s not even in the mall yet! And over the weekend I might drive to Portland! So that just goes to show how It dosn’t take alot for me to drive up there!

  48. Sarah says:

I know right Jessie? See someone understands that we have like no big stores in Oregon!

  49. Sarah says:

    Opps my bad!

  50. Sarah says:

Thank you everyone! :) Sry I didn’t say thank you to everyone earlyier I had only read Jessie’s comment. Sry!
