According to my daughter, we just got back from the BEST. DAY. EVER!! We went to the new American Girl store in Tyson’s Corner – also known as their Washington DC store – for a tour with one of the PR Reps from American Girl. I took a TON of pictures and there is no way I will get them all posted tonight, so bear with me.
First of all, if you are going to the Grand Opening this weekend, expect long lines and craziness. They are going to be giving out group tickets starting at 6 a.m. with the first group being allowed to go in the store at 9 a.m. There will be crafts, giveaways, and more. They have a photo opportunity area where you can take your picture in Kanani’s Shave Ice Stand near the Kanani collection. Expect long lines for this.
The store is located next to Bloomingdales and your best bet is to park in the parking garage at the front of the mall area. The store is 23,000 square feet with an upstairs and a downstairs as well as an outside entrance, too. On the upper floor the focus is on the Historical Collection, the Girl of the Year, souvenirs, the Sweet Treats bar and the Bistro. Downstairs you will find Bitty, the Bitty Twins, the Hair Salon, Creativitees, the My AG Dolls, and some of the Girl of the Year collection.
If you did not get a chance to get Felicity before she went to the archives, you can get her at the Tyson’s store for a limited time. I asked my tour guide (a PR rep from AG) if the reason Felicity is available in the Tyson’s store, is because of the Williamsburg, VA connection and she said yes. It was very nice to see Felicity in the spotlight still.
I did take pictures of the new redhead Bitty, the new My AG dolls, Kanani’s party dress and more. Check back in little bit for more!
