Have you heard of the new doll line out of the United Kingdom called Bonnie & Pearl? I have been watching them from afar for the past year – and the more photos I saw and the more Facebook posts I read, the more I started to love this line. When Bonnie & Pearl approached me about doing a review, of course I was thrilled and when Beatrice arrived I was just blown away by a list of little details that make these dolls truly special.

Bonnie and Pearl Beatrice

Bonnie & Pearl dolls are 19″ tall (however, when Beatrice stands next to the AG dolls I don’t notice much difference) and have soft bodies.  The line was created by friends Lisa and Nicola who named their brand after the dolls they had as children. Bonnie & Pearl dolls are extremely high quality dolls that are made for play, companionship, inspiring creativity and imagination.

The packaging that Beatrice arrived in is beyond adorable! The thick light blue box is loaded with details, sweet graphics and play inspiration.

Beatrice looks a bit worried – it must have been that very long trip from the UK all the way to the US.

Now this is fun! Instead of throwing away the cardboard insert that your doll comes attached to, the insert is designed to be your doll’s bed – and you can color it in. It also comes with a Bonnie & Pearl pillow – now that is something I haven’t seen before. A+ details indeed!

When I first opened the box I was immediately reminded of Carpatina doll Erin – they have similar eyes and similar hair color. Bonnie & Pearl dolls have sleep eyes, too. Beatrice was inspired by children’s book author Beatrix Potter, as many of you know is my favorite – I am a huge Peter Rabbit fan!

Beatrice was beautifully packaged. She can be released from her box by untying all the ribbons. Extra special care was taken and there is tissue paper around each of the areas where the ties are. Don’t you just love her super poofy skirt? It was just waiting to be free of that box.

Her floral shoes are canvas with the matching floral print. So sweet.

When you slide the inner box out, you can see how it is a ready to use bed for the doll. I really had to resist the urge to color her bed before taking the photos. Something tells me this is one of the first things most new Bonnie & Pearl owners want to do.

Again, the bed and pillow are such a wonderful touch and make the entire doll opening experience something special.

So, how does she feel? Beatrice has a really quality weight to her. Her face and limbs are a harder vinyl – much like a Carpatina doll. She has a soft body but the upper torso is vinyl – like a Madame Alexander Favorite Friends dolls, but her torso is stuffed very well so she is much more stable on her feet. Her hair is absolutely amazing! Not only is the quality of the hair stunning – so silky and thick – but her wig is probably the best one I have seen to date – no gaps or wonky thin spots.

Beatrice is slightly thinner than her American Girl friends, but I did some wardrobe swapping and the AG dolls can wear the Bonnie and Pearl outfits. Her meet outfit is sewn with such detail and quality – and her little purse is such a nice touch, too.

You can purchase Bonnie and Pearl dolls at BonnieandPearl.com and select retailers. They do ship internationally, too.

Stay tuned for part two – because I know you want answers to things like – can she share clothes with… how does she look next to… and more!
