Please welcome today’s guest crafter, Alyssa!
Halloween is just about here and my dolls are going to have a party – but no party is complete without cake. Pilsbury is my favorite brand of cake and the regular Funfetti cake mix is the best. There is also a Halloween Funfetti cake mix which inspired me to make a doll version of the cake.
Materials Needed:
- 2 Yellow Sponges
- Orange Micro Marbles
- White Acrylic Paint
- Black Acrylic Paint
- Orange Acrylic Paint
- Packing Tape Roll
- Black Sharpie
- Hot Glue Gun
- 1 Hot Glue Stick
- Big Paint Brush
- Thin Detail Paint Brush
- Popcicle Stick
- Scissors
- Alex Plus White Caulk plus Silicone (you will need to read the label and adult help is recommended)
You can find all of these supplies at your local craft store like Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Target or online at Amazon.
Here are the basic steps or you can follow along in the video above.
Step 1: Trace packing tape on sponge
Step 2: Cut
Step 3: Cut a piece out so that you have a slice
Step 4: Glue pieces together
Step 5: Paint the top and sides of the cake white
Step 6: Add Alex Plus Silicone to the top and sides of the cake – this is the whipped icing
Step 7: Add Orange Micro Marbles to the top of the cake
Step 8: Paint orange and black circles inside the cake – these are the confetti
Note: The cake will take one day to be completely dray but once it has set it will feel squishy, just like real cake.

Can you get the caulk at Target?
Yes, look over in the home improvement section where they sell basic hardware items. In our Target it is near the Sporting Goods near the back of the store.

Whoa! That looks so real! My dad has Caulk (he’s a carpenter), so I’ll probably make this as a doll Christmas decoration since we don’t celebrate Halloween :- )
I just eat a lot of candy and dress up at home.

My favourite cake is chocolate fudge cake I also really like tablet there is lots of it where I live because i live in Edinburgh in Scotland there is also lots of shortbread
