I was doing a big clean out in the playroom last night when we rediscovered our Groovy friends, the Groovy Girls. Long before my girls played with American Girl dolls, their lives revolved around the Groovy Girls. These three girls are from about 2001 or so and and were part of a collection of dolls representing a variety of countries. We have the girls from Great Britain, USA and Canada.
The Groovy Girls are rooting for all the athletes competing this week and say, “GO WORLD!!”
In related notes, we also discovered that some of our 13-16″ dolls can share clothes with the Groovy Girls! And the Groovy Girl furniture is perfect for them too. Coming up later today – photos of Little Miss Matched, Hearts for Hearts Girls, and Corolle Les Cheries trading clothes and the Doll Play Day activity, too.

I have two, one is a flowergirl and one is a popstar.
Cute.
Cool! My neighbor girl used to have 2 big boxes of these and Barbie dolls!
Cool! I have a princess and a fairy, from when I was five or six. I also have hard little groovy girls, that came with a sleepover set (sleeping bags, popcorn and they were in pj’s) Plus bunk beds for both of them. The little ones are a lot like Polly’s, just a bit taller.
I have a princess, a ballerina, another fairytale one, three average girls, a rock star and a girl scout. I earned “Strong Sierra” after cookie selling.
I also created a Groovy boy when I was 10. I named him Mikey and he wore eighties pants. (how my art teacher, Catherine, remembers him)
