This summer I was asked to bring several crafts for the girls at a camp I went to with my daughter. They wanted to make these fabric strip headbands. I brought a whole rainbow of color choices and it was so fun to see what the girls came up with! Today I have an adapted version of the fabric strip headband just for dolls!
It is so quick and easy and uses such basic supplies, you probably already have them on hand!
Let’s get started!
- cotton fabric
- thin hair elastic
- safety pin
You will need 3 strips of fabric for the headband.
Cut or rip strips of fabric.
Pin together 3 strips of fabric. Pin it to the leg of your pants. This will hold it in place while you braid the strands.
Braid it to 12″ long. Fold over each end 1″ onto the hair elastic so the finished length with the elastic is about 12 3/4″ . Sew, hand sew, or glue over the folded fabric. You are finished!
The hair elastic has just the right stretch to make this headband easy to put on your dolls head!
Get creative with different fabric combos. Depending on the patterns and colors it will really vary the look!
