Hey there! This week’s camp theme is Tasty Treats, but not all tasty treats are sweet. Our dolls happen to be big fans of sushi and it is one of my favorite things to make from clay. Today I will be showing you how to make clay sushi out of Sculpey for your 18″ doll. Let’s get started!
What you need:
- Clay roller
- Needle tool
- Clay slicer
- *Sculpey white, olive, cream, light green, and salmon colored clay
*I already had prepared cucumber and salmon clay strips but plain colored clay rolled out works.
Begin with a rectangle of olive green clay about 1/2 an inch thick. Roll it out and cut into a long rectangle about 4 inches long.
Next roll out a piece of white slightly smaller and thicker. Place on top of the green clay.
Now cut your “salmon” into two chunks and set aside.
Do the same with the cucumber and set aside.
Next roll a piece of the cream clay into a short tube-like shape.
After that place all pieces in the center of the sushi wrap.
Roll it up!
Cut pieces to desired thickness and use your needle tool to add texture. Bake according to directions on clay packaging.
Ta da! Plate and add “chopsticks”!
Yum! You are all done and have a delicious plate of sushi!
Do you have a favorite type of sushi?
