American Girl debuted its new historical character Caroline today and whether you plan on buying her (and all her accessories) or not, I think her historical time period is worth learning about! To help you get to know Caroline, I have created a printable word search for you and your dolls to do together today.
American Girl Felicity and A Girl for All Time Matilda are eager to find out what happens next in history – as in what came after their time. They are working hard on the Caroline Abbott word search I created for them.
Download the Get to Know Caroline Word Search as a PDF file.
I also encourage you to visit the American Girl website and go to Play and then to the Historical Characters - not only can you learn about Caroline, but you can bring history to life through the activities of all the current and retired American Girl characters.
Also, for those of you who homeschool or are teachers looking for ways to incorporate Caroline’s story and history during the War of 1812, American Girl has a packet specifically for teaching this important chapter – it is put together in conjunction with the Smithsonian and includes resources, question and answers, activities and another printable word puzzle. Download the American Girl Learning Guide for Caroline Abbott – 1812.
Have a great day learning all about Caroline!

Awesome! Cute wordsearch!
This is awesome Char! Can u do a doll play day to make a gymnastics wedge mat like McKennas?
6thie
agtlcrepair – the easiest way to make a wedge mat is to get a piece of foam at the craft store, cut the wedge shape and cover it with duct tape.
She is such a pretty girl. The model for the books is too old though.
Matilda is so cute!!!

Char, I’m not going to send in the pictures for 100 days of play craft. I’ll just send them in for a different time.
Natalia – that is fine. What ever works best for you. We always love seeing pictures.
Sophie – the earring don’t come out josefina sorry And I recommend her
Char, I was about to ask the same question as Natalia, about sending in a picture for 100 Days of Doll Play! If you don’t have anything planned for the rest of the “days”, can I send in some photos and make write a post?
Hayley- They don’t? I thought they did…
No they don’t Alicen. Neither do Addy’s.
Alicen – even though the 100 Days of Doll Play will be done, that will not be the end of the doll play posts – they just won’t be everyday and numbered. You are always welcome send in photos, craft ideas, or stories. I can not guarantee I will post everything, but if it is good, I will.
Thanks, Char! I just finished taking the photos. I don’t really care if you post it as a 100 Days of Doll Play post or not, just that you actually post it as a doll craft. I’ll email it to you, along with the actual post and how-to.
Delaney- I never knew that! I thought you could take them out and put it on other American Girl Dolls when you get their ears pierced at the AGP! Thanks for telling me!
I’m gonna die when 100 days of doll play is over!
Oh no you won’t – don’t worry, we will have plenty of goodness to keep you going still
LOL, Char. I will be doing this tonight; I love word searches!
Cool!
What the heck does “firstie” “senondie” thirdie” “fourthie” mean? by the way, Char nice crafts.
Idk what the mean but char did u geet the pics of my dolls Sara and McKenna
I did Sophie. I have added them to the Sunday Showcase group. I will pick one of them to feature on Sunday.
Liv- It’s just a little “thing” that us readers do. Char did not make it, and she is not blocking it either. You know, people try to get “firstie”… I don’t know. I guess they just like it.
Char- I sent you an email about the doll craft that I was talking about. Hopefully it’ll get posted soon!
Oh no!!! My state is under a tornado warning and a severe tstorm warning for the 2 time 2day what fun:P but this is really cool anyway Char!!
Lol I have auto correct on my iPad I must have hit a button I ment good lol
Liv- Saying firstie secondie and thirdie is just a fun little thing to do you should try it!
Matilda is so lovely! I cant wait for Clementine!
Alicen, it’s weird, isn’t it?
Addy’s and Josefina’s don’t come out, but Ivy and Elizabeth’s do.
