Doll Play Day 77 – Something to Cheer About

Let’s Go TEAM!!! Football season is right around the corner and since my daughter Megan is now a cheerleader at the high school, I hear her practicing her cheers from across the house daily! To get in the back to school spirit, today’s doll play activity will feature our cheerleaders McKenna and Olivia and dance team member Marisol. Use the printable below to make a pennant in your team colors and do a cheer themed word search.

McKenna is in the spirit of the game showing off her team pennant (made from the printable below) and her new pom-poms. To make the pom-poms, take tissue paper or ribbons and cut into to strips about 8″ long. The more strips you cut (or pieces of ribbon you use) the fluffier the poms will be. Tie a string or elastic around the center of the stack of paper strips, poof and you have your own pom poms.

  3. Samira says:

  4. Sharry says:

Amanda, you should enter that doll you made in the craft contest. She’s a doll and a craft at the same time!

  5. Delaney says:

    Sharry, groovy idea!!! LOL

  6. Amanda says:

Sharry, I should! I’ll ask my mom. Any ideas for names? Oh, and what are the prizes for the craft contest?

  7. Amanda says:

Char, I just wanted to let you know that I’ve been noticing a few innapropriate advertisements up on the top. I just wanted to make you aware of this :-)

  8. Delaney says:

Amanda, the prize is a tee shirt with doll diaries’s logo on it. It’s really cute.

  9. Delaney says:

Hmmm name. How about Anna, Katlyn, lily, Rose, daisy, Pansy, Ginny, Molly, Bella, or Amy? Just Ideas.

  10. Amanda says:

Ok, It’s between Daisy, Susie, and Ella (my mom and my brothers ideas). What do you think?

  11. Char says:

Thanks for letting me know Amanda – they are not something I have control over but I will look into it. A lot of them are actually served up based on what sites the people using your computer are looking for and everyone gets different ads – it is controlled bu Google. I recommend clearing the “cookies” on your browser and see if that fixes it.

  12. Amanda says:

Char, wow, that’s weird I have not gone on any innapropriate stuff, I wouldn’t dream of it. But thanks, I’ll try doing that.

  13. Delaney says:

I think Ella. That sounds really good. I have noticed some really weird adds, too, but I keep forgeting to report them. So thanks Amanda!

  14. Amanda says:

Delaney, I already sent a pic of the ragdoll and the AG swimsuits to Char, but I said her name was Susie! So, I guess it can be Susie Ella +my last name. Or Ella Susie… hmmm…

I did what Char said, got rid of my cookies, and it helped.

  15. Char says:

Amanda – it does have to be that you went on an inappropriate site – it is the way the ad network tries to match things you are looking for with the ads it serves you. For example, I was looking for a Lilly Pulitzer agenda for my daughter and now every now and then it shows me Lilly Pulitzer ads. You can also have your parents install a program like Adblock so you don’t see any at all.

  16. Amanda says:

Ok, thanks Char. They weren’t like, “gasp!” innapropriate, but more for… let’s say undergarments. I’m not sure why it would pop up, but it did. Oh well, I cleared my cookies and that seemed to help. Thanks!

P.S. One time I had never gone on this one shoe website, and I went on it, and then all these ads were popping up about the sales they were having. Lol!

  17. Amanda says:

Oh, and I’ll ask my parents about that. Thank you very much! (I have a commnet in moderation)

  18. Amanda says:

*Gasp!* I think I know what it is. I’ve searched “Stores in…” wherever the place I was searching, and the ad says the name of the place I was searching for! Ok, that makes a whole lot more sense.

Oh, and Char, I sent you some pics for the Sunday Showcase! They are all things I’ve made.

  19. Cassie says:

    that looks like my cat!

  21. Mollie Ruth says:

    PITTSBURGH!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. Dollygirl says:

Char how do you keep your Springfield dolls hair so perfect?

  23. Char says:

Dollygirl – We generally store our dolls standing up so their hair has less chance to tangle. We also use a spray solution of a few teaspoons of fabric softener in a bottle of water that we spray on when brushing their hair. I hope that helps.
