Our Hearts for Hearts Girl, Lauryce, is wearing a watercolor inspired dress and that inspired us to make an artist palette and paint brush for today’s 100 Days of Doll Play activity!
For today’s activity we set up a small art studio for Lauryce. I made the palette using fun foam (and the pattern in our printable) and for the paintbrush, I wrapped a bit of white Model Magic clay around the tip of a short colored pencil. I added a bit of blue Model Magic on the tip to look like she just dipped her brush in the paint. For her easel, I found the easel stand from the Doll School book from American Girl and added a new piece of paper to it. Pretty easy when all is said and done!
Today’s printable includes the pattern for the artist palette that you can cut out and trace onto heavier cardboard or fun foam. It also includes a few butterflies for you to use as inspiration for your doll’s artwork! Color them ahead of time and then glue them on to her canvas to make it look like she is the one with the talent.
Download the artist palette activity as a PDF file.
If you are feeling very creative you could have your doll create a self portrait or make lots of paintings and display them in a doll art gallery! This activity is perfect for 18″ dolls or smaller dolls like Lauryce, too.

Ooh i like this!! If you dont have doll school, doll dining also has an easel. My Samantha doll just got cleaned, and you can see the difference greatly. We used a Q-tip for her mouth and it was actually really gross.
There is a gymnastics outfit from 1999 that is like the one McKenna got. It is at
