Happy Birthday America!!! Are you going to any parades today? How about fireworks? Natalie set up a parade with some of our dolls last night and they are wishing you a Happy 4th of July!!
Can you name all the dolls in this photo? They are all dolls we have featured recently! The red convertible is from Build-a-Bear and sells for $30. It easily fits two 18″ dolls and has held up to a lot of play over the past few years very well.
For today’s day of doll play, set up a parade with your dolls. Dress them in red, white and blue. Decorate their scooters or bikes. Make a float. Give them some flags. And then when you are done, take a picture and email it to me at share@dolldiaries.com. I have already received some great July 4th photos from readers and will do a virtual parade post to add them all to.
Today’s printable has a template for making your parade flags – you should know the drill on these by now – cut the flag out, place a toothpick on the fold line, fold and glue the two sides of the flag together. There are also some stars you can use to decorate your parade vehicles (like Natalie did with the scooter in the picture above) and then there is a word scramble puzzle to test your 4th of July knowledge.
Download the 4th of July printable page as a PDF file.
I am looking forward to seeing your parade! Have a great day and stay cool!

awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and firstie!!!
It’s just an ordinary day for me.. Australia has to wait till 26th of January to celebrate our country. Speaking of which, will you make something for Australia Day for us? I know that most of your fans are from Canada and America, but there are other countries with other fans? Happy Birthday for America BTW!
I totally agree! This is great! Secondie!
Erin – remind me a bit closer to the time and I certainly will.
Love it! Happy 4th of July!
2 Ellowynes, 3 Little Miss Matched, Kit, Emily, Ivy, McKenna, Saila, and Taryn, I believe.
I’m sitting at home being lazy today, maybe reading AG and Dear America’s (that’s patriotic, right? learning history?) Fireworks lose their magic if you worked at Disney and say them every day.
Lena – I can definitely see that! It is so hot here today that I don’t even want to go outside, let alone watch fireworks.
Happy Fourth of July! I’m just hanging with my “Older Sister” (Not really my older sister but treats me like a sister). She helped me choose Janelle, Number 54, and encourages me to sew for my dolls.
Speaking of choosing my dolls, what doll do you think is retiring this year? My top three dolls to adopt, in no particular order:
-Julie
-Molly
-Josefina
I’m asking because right now, I feel like I need Julie, but at the same time I want Josefina and Molly. There are also a few MAGs I want, but I want historicals right now.
Oh, and I have McKenna.
happy 4TH guys!
Happy 4th everybody!!!!!! Is that Callie or calista ur showing half of or Chrissa? But I think I see 11 and a half dolls total. 3little missed matched 2mapela (taren and salia) 2 ellowyne, and 4 in a half Ags. (kit McKenna, ivy, Emily and half of a doll in the valintines dress to the right)
Cool! I’m going to set it up today! : )
Oh, and Happy Independence Day!
me and my mom are going to a parade today.i should make my dolls a parade to
My four daughters and I celebrate at any opportunity, so we enjoyed the 4th of July (which is just about finished here now). We did dolls in red, white and blue, ate American style, learned a bit about the Declaration of Independence and watched a film together by the warm fire.
I hope you all have a wonderful day.
going to a 4th of july flee martket maybe ill find a hidden Gem doll!
Pretty Irish AG, I’d say Molly’s next out of the three you want. Josefina is the only Latina, and they know there will be backlash if the retire her. Julie’s from 2007 and extremely popular with the target group right now, so I doubt she’ll go next.
I made red, white, and blue sandwiches out of white bread, strawberry jam, and blackberries.
This is so cool!
I’m totally gonna do it and post pics on my blog!
Sorry my email was wrong in the first comment
