Have you started your summer reading list yet? Are you participating in American Girl’s Readapalooza or your local library’s summer reading program? Whether the answer is yes or no, reading is something you should enjoy year round and it can be one of the most relaxing activities in summer. Since it is a rainy, dreary day here, our dolls are having a reading day. In addition to the photos of the girls reading, I have a printable reading log for you and your dolls as well as some printable bookmarks for both of you, too.
What is your favorite kind of book to read? Or are you like Nicole who prefers magazines? Marisol is happy reading her text books, and Springfield girl Madison is reading one of Bitty Baby’s books.
Today’s printables are pretty straightforward. You can print out as many copies of the reading log as you need and if you want, there is matching journal paper and story starter paper you can download to do your own book reports. The other sheet has girl size and doll size bookmarks and a doll size reading log for you to print out.

i have always hated summer reading. not that i dont like reading i just hate being forced to read during my free time. Summer vacation is supossed to let us not have to do any summer work!
That is really cute! I love reading! It is my favorite thing to do, and I’m sure my dolls will love this craft as much as I do!
Gail – my kids are so busy during the school year that they can not wait to have some extra time in the day to hideaway with a book. I guess its all about your perspective.
Thats SOOO cute!!!
oh i love reading in the summer especially at the beach! i cant wait to finish my series!
Wowzer this is awesome! One of my favourite things to do is read, and I am ALWAYS losing my bookmarks, so it will be great to have a few more for me and the girls!
Ohhh I just got the BEST idea from the part on the PDF that said ‘set up a reading nook for your dolls and you!’ I should put one full-sized beanbag and 2 of the doll beanbags MyFroggyStuff has a tutorial for, and my doll’s and my bookshelf, all together in my room, That would be SO cute! This is why I love Doll diaries!
so cute
I love the printables! They’re adorable!
This is another great post. My daughter has read five books since school let out last week.
i love 100 days of play!! and theres still 88 days left!!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE to read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love reading. It can take people anywhere and also teach them anything they want to know. I only wish my library would get the McKenna books and the new historical mysteries. I have been dying to read them.
