Back by popular demand, but in a slightly different format, is our Doll of the Week series. It started out as a Doll of the Day series in February 2013 and I had a lot of fun doing the series, but it was a ton of work and took my time away from other types of posts. As a compromise the series is coming back and we are going to feature one doll each week. The dolls will not all be ours – the other Doll Diaries staff members are going to get in on the fun, too.
Since American Girl Rebecca is the newest member of the Doll Diaries family, she gets to go first.

We got Rebecca this week at the BeForver debut. Natalie had really wanted to get Rebecca before the changeover because she loved Rebecca’s original meet outfit, but once she saw Rebecca at the store and saw the new outfit up close, Rebecca was the one. Rebecca’s meet outfit is a white sleeveless dress with a plum herringbone knife pleat skirt. It has a purple boucle jacket with velvety ribbon trim and pearly buttons. It is nice and thick.
Her shoes are a pretty plum suede like material with velcro fasteners and a white button detail.
A close look at her jacket shows off the velvet bow and the boucle fabric which is different shades of purple and pink.
The herringbone skirt is also nicely weighted.
It’s really hard to see in photos but the white Peter Pan collar fabric is very detailed – can you see the tiny white polkadots? Nice touch.
And again on the sleeve as the cuff.
Her jacket does not really button, rather it velcros. The top part of the dress is nothing special – just white sleeveless fabric that is meant to go under the jacket.
Rebecca is trying to decide what costume to wear to her next performance – she asks the kitten “Light blue Grecian Princess or Lavender Lady?”
Since we do not have any of the furniture or accessories from her line yet, Rebecca is using The Queen’s Treasures trunk as her room, she is borrowing Kirsten’s cats and some of Samantha’s accessories, too.
“So my little kittens, which costume should I wear?” she asked.
“I guess it will be the Grecian Princess costume,” mumbled Rebecca to herself.
Thanks for spending a few minutes getting to know Rebecca with us! Do you have Rebecca? What do you think of her new outfit?
