Maplelea Saila

Canadian doll company Maplelea’s 18″ soft body dolls are inspired by the faces and heritage of Canadian girls. Saila, pronounced “sigh-la,” in case you were wondering, is from Iqaluit – the capital of the Nunavat Territory in the northern part of Canada. Saila speaks English and her native language of Inuktitut. When Saila was first introduced, I was captivated by her original look and was so happy that Maplelea let us play a part in the introduction of Saila to the doll world.

Maplelea Saila

Saila has just come in on this rainy Spring day. She is wearing a metallic trench coat by Carpatina.  While I was working on the Daydream Doll Boutique giveaway for you, Natalie was taking the photos of Saila. Can I just say, I am getting spoiled by having such a talented photographer on my “staff?”

Saila loves to share clothes with her doll friendss. She and PenPalGirls Cady do a lot of closet swapping. The purple striped dress is from PenPalGirls, the leggings are Madame Alexander and Saila’s boots are from My Pink Planet.

Time to get some work done! Saila is helping moderate comments on Doll Diaries this evening. She is using the American Girl computer and enjoying her lemonade, too. The table and chair set is from Little Miss DIY and we will be doing a more detailed review on them soon.

Lemonade anyone? This has to be one of my favorite photos to date! Natalie did an amazing job of capturing Saila’s personality in this picture – and the placement of the lemonade – perfection!
