Ever get that “how can I resist that face?” feeling when you walk into a store with dolls? Yes, I know you do!

This past weekend after Natalie’s swim meet we stopped in the outlet mall and while Megan was braving Forever 21, Natalie and I stopped over to the Disney Outlet – why I don’t know – but we did. And then Natalie saw “that face!”

Disney has a pretty cute line of 16″ dolls based on all the princesses as toddlers and while they are cute and all, they all have the same look on their face – except for Merida from the movie BRAVE. The toddler doll version of Merida has a very similar smirk on her face to the one Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney became famous for this summer. Now this was a little doll with personality and Natalie couldn’t resist spending her allowance on Merida!

Merida came dressed in her blue gown with the gold trim, white tights and blue flats. The material on her dress is very shiny and while it is cute, I really need to do a little closet swapping to see which dolls she can share clothes with. Merida’s hair is a little too orange for my personal liking, but since she is “animated” – she can get away with it. Her curls are rather stiff and honestly, I do not think her hair could handle any brushing what so ever. She will definitely be displayed standing up and her hair will be left alone.

Merida looks like she is up to no good already! Look at the mischief on her face!!  Ellowyne might want to watch out, I am not sure little Merida can be trusted… I think she is plotting already!

Merida’s printables include her trading card, a poster and an official maze sent to us when her movie came out on DVD.

If you are a big BRAVE fan or Disney Princess fan, this is definitely a cute doll with original facial features, that would be a nice addition to a collection. As a play doll, her hair is a disaster waiting to happen 😉

And a quick update – I just put Merida in one of Bitty Baby’s dresses. It was a little big, but nothing a piece of ribbon can’t fix 😉
