Carpatina Rowena

In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day on Sunday, I decided it was only fitting to have my favorite Celtic beauty – Rowena – as today’s star! And of course, the “castle” background is a must. I know some of you have asked before about the “castle” background – it is just our stone fireplace and it works very well as a medieval back drop. Of all the dolls that were released in 2012, Carpatina’s Celtic Princess Rowena was by far one of the dolls I was most excited about and she certainly didn’t disappoint. She has gorgeous LONG auburn hair that is curly, crystal blue eyes and a very sweet face. I have a soft spot for dolls with an Irish/Celtic heritage due to my own Irish heritage and Carpatina did such a great job with Rowena.

Isn’t her brocade gown gorgeous? Simple lines, simple details but oh, so pretty with her hair. She does remind me a bit of Merida from BRAVE, but maybe a little more proper and ladylike 😉

An interesting note for those of you who like your doll trivia or have been collecting dolls for a long time: the team behind the Carpatina dolls also helped create the brands Stardust Classics, Dream Doll Designer, Little Sisters, My Li’l Punkin, and Friend to Friend.

Rowena’s curls reach all the way to her rear end! While those long curls are super soft, don’t brush them! I recommend separating them and finger curling them only as necessary. Another thing about the Carpatina 18″ dolls is that their heads can move side to side and up and down allowing for beautiful and inquisitive looks.

The braided belt on Rowena’s dress is very much like the braided belt on 18″ soft bodied Celtic Princess gown that Carpatina makes – the detail around the jewels is just a bit different.

Having a little fun with photo effects! Rowena wishes you a Happy St. Patrick’s Day and now she is off to look for that elusive leprechaun and the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

While Rowena is certainly solid enough for play, her long curly locks require extra special care! She is he perfect doll for junior collectors or adult collectors but for younger Carpatina lovers I would start with one of their dolls (Like Erin or Zoe) that have straight hair.

And for good measure – more photos of Rowena:
