Last week we featured American Girl Ruthie as our doll of the day and since Ruthie and Kit have been hard at work doing their chores, I decided to spotlight Kit today. Kit was the second American Girl in our collection – the first was MyAG #3 Nicole – and was our first historical doll. If I remember correctly, Megan got Kit sometime in early 2005 and she has been all over the world and been a consistent favorite since.

Kit is a hard working and resourceful girl who grew up in the Great Depression. Kit and her best friend Ruthie are busy doing laundry now that Kit’s Wash Day set has arrived. This is a neat set that I have had my eye on for a while. Natalie even had it on her Christmas list. I am glad I was patient – I was able to get it recently when it was featured in a weekly sale on the American Girl site. Natalie did a pretty extensive photo shoot of Kit and Ruthie doing laundry and has a photo story planned for you later this week.
Kit and Ruthie are the best of friends! Kit is wearing her meet outfit and Ruthie is wearing Kit’s birthday dress and the apron from the Wash Day set. Nice photos Natalie!!
An oldie, but a goodie!! This is Kit in 2005 when she and Bitty went all the way to Ireland to visit my Grandparents. My Grandmother was a girl about the same time as Kit would have been and remembered the feedsack dresses and many of Kit’s outfits as being popular then.
Kit’s printable includes a Word Scramble, trading card and mini poster. All of the words in the word scramble can be found on Kit’s page on the American Girl site.
