I hope you had a great week! The holiday in the middle of the week kind of threw me off, but I still managed to find time to visit all my favorite doll blogs and catch up on what you all have been doing. Here are some of my favorites this week.
Sharry’s dolls had the most fun July 4th party ever – complete with a Slip n Slide – that is just too awesome! Check out Julie Newman’s 70s Time Capsule.
The AG minis are at it again on Snickerdoodle Street. Molly does amazing in her Little Miss Victory dance performance.
Lifewithyouragdoll got a new doll this week – a retired Kanani that she got for $80 on eBay (that’s a great price) – and did such a pretty photo shoot with her.
Doll Delight shows you how to make a simple and stylish polka dot beach towel on their site. What a great idea!
The July/August issue of Doll Mag by Bella and Lulu is ready for your reading pleasure – it is always fresh, full of fun information and ideas, too!
There is a reason why The Doll Wardrobe is one of my all time favorite sites – not only have they been collecting American Girl for longer than we have, but they really know their stuff and TELL IT LIKE IT IS (and tell it with a class and a bit a humor, too). Must reads from The Doll Wardrobe this week include So Long Molly and Emily: Archival Confessions and Two New MyAGs: The Classic Mold Conspiracy.
Marjorie at My Dolly Addiction did a great post comparing a whole bunch of the American Girl doll faces. Very interesting!!
Great job everyone!! If you have a suggested site for me to add to me reading list, leave it in the comments. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Nice photos!
I love that poke-a-dot beach towel. It would be easy to make a different shape too, like hearts or flowers.
I love the beach towel
Yay! Thanks Char! That story was a lot of fun to make. I was in my backyard at 8am (in my jammies!) shooting the party scenes before it got too hot, and did the Slip’N Slide snaps when I came home from work. And BTW…that’s a real Slip ‘N’ Slide folded up!
Interesting
Aww thank you SO MUCH! My mom still can’t believe mini Molly did the splits – LOL!!
Adorable! I loved Sharrys fourth fo july post!
i meant of instead of fo xD
Yay! I loved all of these posts! 🙂 And I definitely agree about the Doll Wardrobe, Char.
Rhonda~I was pretty impressed by that too. 😉
Sharry~Really? The party looked like so much fun-I wish I could have been there!
Thank you so much for posting about my blog Char! 🙂
Oh cute Mini’s! i love all of them to. I tried commenting on the doll wardrobe and it said i was being to mean i was not.
Cool!
These were all great! Thanks, Char.
Sharry and Rhonda’s photo stories were so much fun! : )
I love all these pics but i must admit my favorite is the Snickerdoodle street! 😀
Thank you for these great picks, Char. I found the articles in The Doll Wardrobe to be very interesting and the one on the retirement of the AG historical dolls reflected my own feelings.
Sharry, your photo story is far out. That is one groovy party!
Rhonda, I am amazed at what you are able to do with the minis.
These are cool picks!
I’ve really been enjoying reading The Doll Wardrobe lately– they’re so funny! And they’re totally right about AG over-using the classic mold. Not that there’s anything necessarily wrong with it, but AG has so many pretty face molds that it’s a shame that they don’t use more of them. I think it would be really cool to see some of them in different skin tones (i.e. Sonali mold in light or medium, Josefina in dark, more Kaya and Marie-Grace molds, etc.).
I definitely need to go read some of these others, too– especially Sharry’s. : ) That looks like so much fun!
Hi! I’d like you to read mine! ;). http://funwiththedolls.blogspot.com
