Are you ready for this week’s Doll Diaries picks? These are my favorite articles/photos from around the doll world this week – and it is quite a diverse group this week.
Mattel launched a new line of dolls this summer called Ever After High dolls. Instead of being inspired by famous monsters in history like Monster High dolls, the Ever After High dolls are inspired by famous fairy tales throughout history. I have not seen any of these dolls up close yet, by the reviews are starting to come in, like Never Grow Up’s review of Madeline Hatter. The photos I have seen so far are fun – they are pretty dolls and I love all the little details and references to important aspects of their stories. Confessions of a Doll Collector’s Daughter has a review of Madeline Hatter, too – I think these may be a popular line!
Maxine at My Doll Best Friend has an interesting comparison of the various Kidz n Cats doll faces – if you are interested in this line of poseable 18″ dolls this is a must read.
Make a fabric checker board for your dolls with this fun tutorial from pixiefaire.com.
What a brilliant idea from Anna! Upcycle a mesh bag that oranges come in for a fun sports bag for your dolls.
Thoughts of a Long Winded Lady recently visited NYC and went to FAO while she was there. She took photos of the various displays, but I am so happy to see this display of A Girl for All Time there! Woo hoo! Congratulations to my dear friend Frances on getting her amazing line of dolls from the UK stocked in FAO!
The Gotz Happy Kidz line are currently available in Europe only, however HABA will be distributing a grouping of Gotz dolls in the US this year. Anyhow, A Doll’s Day has some gorgeous photos of her Alice – a Gotz Happy Kidz doll on her blog right now.
And because we can not get enough of Horse Week at Camp Doll Diaries – go check out Natalie’s stop motion on grooming her horse Mocha.
And don’t forget, Saige Paints the Sky is on TV tonight. It is listed on NBC at 8 pm EST but check your local listings just in case!
I hope you enjoy my picks for this week!
