I got one.
I love the dirndl, congrats on getting it.
Thanks, Lena. I remember that the dirndl and the checked dress retired just before I got Kirsten and the
winter party outfit retired just before I got Samantha, which made me mad. I am glad to finally have all of them in my collection – I have always wanted one, but never got around to it until recently.
I got it!!!
Is the winter party outfit the light blue one on the cover of Samantha’s Winter Party?
I just got back form picking my brother up from camp. I glanced over at the clock and saw that it was 2:32 – we are supposed to be there at 2:30 to pick him up. My dad (who works form home on Tuesdays and forgot all about him) and I raced to the car and over to his camp to pick him up. We got there after 3:40. Oops.
Yes, that’s the one, Sara. It’s a real nice dress, even though it is pastel (and I usually don’t favor pastel or pink outfits).
My dirndl is tagged “Made in West Germany for Pleasant Company, 1989.” The dress is somewhat snug on my ’03 Kirsten, but not too bad. I knew it was made 20 years ago, but it never occurred to me how long ago that really was until I saw the “West Germany” part. As far as I can remember, my AG things have come from China and only China, though I was aware that they were made in different places during the early years of production. The Velcro on my dress is assembled differently, but it is hard to explain how. I like the old way better.
I got my first mobile phone in year 5 (when i was 10 or 11) because i started to catch a bus and on some days, i was supposed to catch a different bus but there was no real set plan and one day i caught the wrong bus. so then i got a phone. It’s just my sister’s old one though, nothing special and now i only use it to check if my mum wants me to catch the train
Man, I want a lot of Sam and Nellie’s stuff!
man, i want mia!! lol mayb xmas
I can finally get either Julie,or Elizabeth.
Who should I buy *first*?
If there isn’t suggestion *fast*,I will just ask again in newest post!
But of course,I will just see after the voting.
And here’s the doll I want:
*Does not matter about being retired.
*Not troublesome.
*Good quality.
And meanwhile,I am just going to scroll through things I want!
And wait,it can be other dolls than Julie or Elizabeth. I forgot about that!
I would probably get Kit. I loved her stories and she’s not very hard to take care of and she really cute. Some of her outfits are cute too.
i would say either kit or addy. addy really has a adorable face that u cant help but love. she looks great in modern clothes!!!! especially pink and red.
I love Addy and am getting her for my birthday next year, I think. But Kit is in no danger as of now, and she is really cute and her hair is easy to take care of. My neighbor has a 2002 Kit and she has held up great! This is just a suggestion – decide for yourself.
She also has a pretty big collection still available from AG.
I got Kit around 2003. Then, that Christmas, I got her Christmas outfit and typewriter. I wish I got her waffle iron set (now retired) Even tho she was my 1st AG doll, she’s still in excellent condition!! Nellie came after her. Oh, and I got them when it was cheap enough 2 get them w/ their accessories.
And I got Ruthie last August at AGP in Chicago. All I need from her collection now is her pj’s!
ivy need clothes but dont forget she can wear julies most of them arnt even in the books.
Yep. That’s true!
I really think they should make an Ana doll for Rebecca’s best friend. I know they are alike but i think they would have different face moulds and Ana would have different hair to Rebecca.
Ahhhh! ok lenna thanx for the ideas i will do that but guys i need more ideas for my party im desperate!!!! how come Lena is the only one answering? I have asked three times!
have a doll fashion show
Alexis, here are some ideas for parties:
- Do american girl word searches
- Watch the Kit, Chrissa, or any A.G. movie
- Bake treats from the 30′s, 1904, etc.
- Make headbands or friendship bracelets like Chrissa, etc.
Oh Thanx I already had a fashoin show idea but do you think I should do something else?
idk… fashion shows are always fun…
mayb make miniature stuff for ur dolls.
I have ideas for food and games you can play. All stolen for the AG books.
I can tell them if you want.
I have Julie, Molly, Kit, Samantha, and Lissie.
Addy, Kirsten, and Josefina also have party ideas, but I don’t have them on hand.

Alexis, this could be something you could do. Write names of historical dolls(Samantha, Rebecca, Felicity, etc.} into a hat, bowl or something like that and get costumes and clothes that go with the girls you chose. Then have each girl choose a name which ever one they get they put on the costume that is for their girl and act like them all night long. Like some would have to sit nicely and stuff like that. You should also look up foods and decorate each room that you know you and your friends will be doing stuff in to look like a place from one of the character’s story
Here are outfit ideas you could do…
Rebecca,Samantha,Nellie- Victorian style dresses
Felicity and Elizabeth- Long dresses with sleeves. Princess{Rennascance}dresses.
Kaya- Indian outfit, exotic looking.
Addy and Kirsten- Prairie like dresses
Kit: dresses, skirts, etc. with floral prints that remind you of feedsack dresses.
Molly- Red, white, and blue dresses.
Julie- Your mom’s clothes or hippie stuff. Peace signs!
Ivy- Chinese style
Josefina-sundresses with exotic, bold colors with shawls{taylor swift sundresses from walmart).
And an clothes from AG
Alexis if you are having food, for a cute apitizer you could use cookie cutters and cut cute shapes out if them like they do at the american girl cafe and put them on scurures (the babmo sticks that have a point on the end). then chocolate pudding with a fake flour in it with worms like mollys victory garden desert and you could put it in styraphome cups and decorate the outside of them. ill try to think of more. hopefully it helps.
Awwwww thanx guys but the problem is only one guest is coming!!!!! she is my ONLY friend who ? american girl dolls!
P.s. Katherine,
luv the idea
Lena,
do any of the games work for two peaople???
whoops spelled people wrongLOL
The cleanup contest is good for two people.
I’d like to correct Erica (sorry, I have to). Sam and Beckie aren’t Victorian. Queen Victoria died in 1901, and Sam’s properly Edwardian, and Beckie’s considered WWI. Addy owns no prairie dresses, fashion is the city was very different than in the country.
ya thanks. Well I couldnt actually think of what they were called. I don;t really know the names of them and I just wanted to help her out but thanks
Victorian things would work (Sam’s playdress was a Victorian school uniform), I was just correcting that Sam and Beckie aren’t Victorian, but Victorian clothes still work for them.
wait i thought sam was victorian too!!! it even says that at the begining of her book :
1904 Samantha, a bright victorian beauty,an orphan raised by her wealthy grandmother.
check it out!!!!
also how do you play the clean-up game???
AG got it wrong. She’s Edwardian.
Let me get the book.
Pick up trash on your neighborhood, giving everyone a bad and pair of gloves. Award prizes for fullest bag, or see who found the oldest newspaper or something like that. Be sure you seperate recyclabels.
If your neighborhood is strict about hygene (like mine), leave stuffed animals or papers all over a room in your house and see who can clean it up the fastets or the most stuff. I did this, and its funner than it sounds.
giving every one a BAG, I meant.
Lena? did u look?
p.s. totally not tryin to be rude
Um….. I did look. I posted how you play th clean up game above.
Lena, I have a mission for you (thanx by the way) I am going to make solidarity scarves LIKE Chrissas in the movie they used to have it on http://www.americangirl.com but i could not find it can you help me??? my party is July 17 so hurry and if you find it tell me asap thanx Lena i trust u on this!!
p.s. if you have no luck tell the other girls on the other thread thanx!!!!!!!!!!
THANX LENA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You’re welcome!
I’m on the hunt, I’ll find it.
Ok, this was sheer luck that I found it so quick.
Go on the shop page at AG and click dolls.
Click GOTY (the pic of Chrissa) and on th bottom of the page it takes you to, it says “Chrissa makes a BIG splash online”. Click that.
Click “at home” and the first activity in the notebook thing should be “headbands”.
