Awwww . . . you have Marisol! I always regretted not buying her and Kailey.

  10. Chloe on July 3rd, 2009 12:01 pm

I’m sending mine in soon… Lilly I adore these pics! I just cut my finger and it won’t stop bleeding… I hope I won’t have to get stiches!

  11. Lily on July 3rd, 2009 12:07 pm

Lena, what can you tell me about personal shoppers at the AG Place? Do they tell you about upcoming retirements/dolls if you call them or something? Since I’m going next week, I’d like to know about them.

  12. Lilly Hazel on July 3rd, 2009 12:09 pm

thanks Chloe,i hope your fingers okay.

I regret not getting Kailey and Lindsey. Lily i saw a new in box Marisol doll for 100$ on craigslist she was in the Texas section i think somwhere near Dallas.

  13. Lily on July 3rd, 2009 12:18 pm

The good news is I’m in Texas. The bad news is I’m a long way from Dallas. I’ll look at her and see if I can get the doll shipped . . . but right now my sights are set on Emily and Julie.

  14. Lily on July 3rd, 2009 12:23 pm

Actually, that Marisol is $125. I’m not going to get her, but thank you for letting me know!

  15. Lilly Hazel on July 3rd, 2009 12:38 pm

oh well i was looking in the Texas section because im gonna be in Texas for my grandpas B day party i cant believe he still uses a typewriter its pretty cool though

  17. Sara on July 3rd, 2009 1:09 pm

Wow!!!! These r awesome pix!!!!! I could never do something like this!!!! :D

  18. priscilla on July 3rd, 2009 1:12 pm

i love chrissa’s outfit, lilly! did youy make it?

  19. Lily on July 3rd, 2009 1:16 pm

If you look closely, the top is from Mia’s practice outfit and the mini skirt is from Mia’s 2 in 1 skating outfit.

  20. Lilly Hazel on July 3rd, 2009 1:55 pm

thanks you guys are all so nice!

Priscilla,I mixed and matched chrissas outfit ,like Lily said the top is from Mia’s practice outfit and the mini skirt is from Mia’s 2 in 1 skating outfit. i just used a stray blue ribbon in her hair some long dark blue leggings witch i roled up to her knees, a silver sequin ribbon that i tied around her waist and the shoes are some black doll sized mary janes you could probably find all of these things at a craft store or ebay.

  21. sunbeemz on July 3rd, 2009 2:15 pm

    That is so cute!

  22. Lena on July 3rd, 2009 2:22 pm

    Sorry, I got distracted.

You have to pay for a PS. They can’t tell you about new dolls. They do tell you about soon to be retirements though. Actually, they do all the shopping for you. Mine hand picked Helena for me.

  23. Lily on July 3rd, 2009 2:41 pm

How much does a personal shopper cost? I’m just curious.

  24. Lily on July 3rd, 2009 2:42 pm

Do you know about any soon to be retirements?

  25. Chloe on July 3rd, 2009 2:43 pm

Guys go check out my blog! There’s a new post and 4th of July pictures! I think my finger has stopped bleeding, I’m gonna go find out! Wish me luck! lol

  26. Chloe on July 3rd, 2009 2:48 pm

    Yup it stopped bleeding. Yay

  27. Chloe on July 3rd, 2009 2:49 pm

Be sure to leave comments on my blog too!

  28. alubadubdub on July 3rd, 2009 3:09 pm

    how cute!

  29. Lily on July 3rd, 2009 3:37 pm

Lena, suddenly you’ve started calling your doll “Helena” instead of “Beckie”. Have you done anything to her appearance yet?

  30. Selena on July 3rd, 2009 3:47 pm

    I’m not lena but i don’t think she has…
I renamed mine and put her in modern clothes, b/c the coke lunch box doesn’t look right w/ her meet outfit!!!!! She actually looks kinda cute w/ chrissa’s dress and mia’s practice headband…

  31. Lena on July 3rd, 2009 3:56 pm

She’s not Rebecca anymore (although her 1914 ancesstor is) she’s a modern girl that like to explore her family history. Nothing changed about the doll herself, just her name and personality.

  32. Lily on July 3rd, 2009 4:32 pm

Like I said before, how much does a personal shopper cost?

  33. Lily on July 3rd, 2009 4:37 pm

I’m getting pretty psyched for Julie now. I’m practically kicking myself for considering Chrissa over her. Speaking of Chrissa, where on earth did AG come up with that name? It sounds similar to Christa, Christy, Chrissy (Barbie’s little sister)

  34. Abby on July 3rd, 2009 4:49 pm

Oh… I’m sending some in maybe tomorow night!

  35. alexis on July 3rd, 2009 5:23 pm

Cool! I have photos but to be honest I am a tween and i dont know how to send them…………embarrasing!

  36. alexis on July 3rd, 2009 5:25 pm

AWWWWW she has Marisol! i want her!

  37. Anne on July 3rd, 2009 6:17 pm

I have photos but I still need to get them into the computer and send them. Maybe this evening.

I am a teen and I don’t know how to, alexix!

And I agree that Chrissa is an odd name. I wonder how AG chose that name, too.

  38. Lena on July 3rd, 2009 6:31 pm

PS is free. You need to pay for the items you bought yourself, and free shipping doesn’t really count, but the PS herself is free of charge.

    I’ve never seen it Sara.

  39. Lena on July 3rd, 2009 6:32 pm

    Oops. Wrong thread ^

  40. Lily on July 3rd, 2009 6:37 pm

So you make an appointment at the AG Place to get one? I personally prefer to do the shopping myself; I just want to hear about upcoming retirements.

  41. Lily on July 3rd, 2009 6:41 pm

    How to Send Photos:

    1. take photos with a digital camera
    2. find the cord that came with the camera
    3. plug in one end of the cord into the camera
    4. plug the other end of the cord into the computer’s USB port
    5. a screen will pop up
    6. save the photos to my pictures
    7. create an email draft (yahoomail)
    8. click on the button to attach photos
    9. browse until you find the photos you took
    10. upload the photos
    11. send

Don’t worry; I’ve only known how to do this for about a year! And I’m definitely past the “tween” stage.

  42. Lena on July 3rd, 2009 6:41 pm

Its helpful if you can’t get to the store yourself. Like me.

  43. Shannon on July 3rd, 2009 6:43 pm

Do Zoe and Jess Post anymore?

  44. pioneerfan04 on July 3rd, 2009 6:46 pm

i will try 2 send in sum pics char!

  45. Char on July 3rd, 2009 7:20 pm

Yes, a personal shopper is free. It is helpful if you are going to spend the day at AG or plan on doing lots of shopping. You can have the PS help you pick out the best items, they will hold them in their PS area for you while you shop, you can check out in their area, and they know A LOT about AG. I always use a PS when we go and if something is out of stock online I usually call my PS and have them ship it from the store.

If you have your July 4th pictures posted on your own sites or on Picasa or Photobucket, you can leave the link for us, too.

I just finished hanging some cool shelves in my daughter’s room and re-dressing all the dolls. We took pictures and I’ll post them soon, too.

  46. Lilly Hazel on July 3rd, 2009 7:34 pm

hey even though i already sent in the pics above would it hurt to send in 1 or 2 more pics of chrissa and rebecca in front of the fireworks?

  47. Char on July 3rd, 2009 8:04 pm

Go ahead and send them in. I am working on putting up new pictures now.

  48. Lena on July 3rd, 2009 8:26 pm

I’d send in my own pics, but my camera quit on me.

  49. Georgia on July 3rd, 2009 8:27 pm

I wish I got Nicki before she retired. I only found out about AG at the beginning of last year while me and my mum were watching Oprah.

  50. Georgia on July 3rd, 2009 8:29 pm

    Btw, nice pics Lilly.

  51. Lily on July 3rd, 2009 8:43 pm

I bet you saw Oprah showing everyone the Mia doll, Georgia? She gave the audience Julie and Ivy dolls that day.

  52. Georgia on July 3rd, 2009 8:48 pm

Yep. I sooo wished I was there

  53. Selena on July 3rd, 2009 9:41 pm

  59. pioneerfan04 on July 4th, 2009 9:25 am

char, is it ok if i send in some pics 2morrow? i may not hav time 2day, but ill try!

  60. Abby on July 4th, 2009 10:23 am

It doesent count you repeated! :)

  61. Lily on July 4th, 2009 11:03 am

I wonder what AG is going to release this fall since they’ve already added a historical character and no fewer than 14 JLY outfits. Chrissa, of course, will be getting an addition to her collection, but I wonder if there will be a lot of new historical stuff? Lena already mentioned that Ivy will be getting a new outfit.

  62. Lena on July 4th, 2009 11:38 am

    I said MAYBE. There’s a difference.

Rebecca will definatly be getting new stuff, and if ivy gets something new, be sure Julie will too. JLY and Bitty holday stuff always comes out in fall.

  63. Starr on July 4th, 2009 1:18 pm

    Yay, new stuff!

    I sent some pictures!

  64. Lily on July 4th, 2009 2:07 pm

I hope Julie gets a new outfit; her collection is pretty small consdiering she’s been around for almost 2 years. And I’d love to see more stuff for Beckie. I love what she has right now, but I want to see her holiday outfit.

  65. Lena on July 4th, 2009 2:20 pm

She’ll be getting her holiday outfit. They always realease holiday stuff in the fall.

I’d love to see Julie’s pioneer outfit (from book 5), and Ivy to get…. anything. Also, I’d love to see a rerelease of Addy’s school dress.

  66. Holly on July 4th, 2009 2:23 pm

    i so agree w/ u lena!!!

  67. Lily on July 4th, 2009 4:46 pm

I’d love to see a rerelease of Felicity’s school dress and Addy’s too. I wish AG wouldn’t retire outfits pertinent to the dolls’ stories.

  68. Lena on July 4th, 2009 5:08 pm

I’m with you Lily. The core outfits at least should always be here.

  69. Lily on July 4th, 2009 5:36 pm

Felicity has especially been a victim of book-related retirements. Within the past year, her school, summer, and birthday outfits have been retired. I’m glad that AG atleast didn’t retire her and Elizabeth’s riding outfits. I haven’t gotten a chance to get those yet.

  70. Georgia on July 4th, 2009 5:43 pm

I would like Julie to get her blue New year dress and the chinese doll that Ivy gave her for christmas.

  71. Lena on July 4th, 2009 5:48 pm

Me too. I don’t know what they were thinking with the barbie head… wait, I do. Mattel shamless self promotion.

Lissie needs her stuff back. Badly.

  72. Georgia on July 4th, 2009 5:54 pm

The barbie head wasn’t even in the book! It’s retired now anyways. I think Ivy could get her dress that she wore at Julie’s birthday/eagle thinggy. And maybe some casual clothes.

  73. Lily on July 4th, 2009 6:04 pm

That Barbie head that Julie had looked like one of those $1 plastic Barbie knockoffs you find at Dollar stores, much less a $20 AG toy.

  74. Lena on July 4th, 2009 6:23 pm

Actually, it was accurate to what Barbie looked like in the 70’s.

Yes! Ivy need more clothes!!!! Her gymnastic outfit wouldn’t hurt… neither would some PJs *glares at AG*

  75. Lily on July 4th, 2009 6:28 pm

I know what Barbie looked like in the 70’s. While I’m sure the actual life-sized toy produced back then was fine, a scaled down version just looks cheap.

  76. Lena on July 4th, 2009 6:33 pm

It was cheap… but it wasn’t scaled down. It was actual Barbie head sized (like your own Barbies when you were little)

  77. Abby on July 4th, 2009 6:33 pm

Hey gals! its me, Abby! I’m chatting from my brothers DSI!

  78. Abby on July 4th, 2009 6:36 pm

    barbies are great collectables.

  79. Selena on July 4th, 2009 6:41 pm

    i’m sooo bored!!
I’d LOVE to see julie’s new year outfit! I love that color
    happy 4th of july!
lena, i gave in to my temptation and spent the $5 LOL

  80. Lily on July 4th, 2009 7:14 pm

I meant that the toy was a scaled down version of the origina; not that the Barbie head was smaller than a real Barbie’s head.

  81. Lily on July 4th, 2009 7:15 pm

    *original*

  82. alexis on July 4th, 2009 8:08 pm

I was readin the comments above and I do think Ivy Ling needs more clothes at least pajamas char: I think you should find more about that!!!!

  83. alexis on July 4th, 2009 8:19 pm

Hey! if you like rebecca try this awesome game inspired by her!

  84. alexis on July 4th, 2009 8:22 pm

Thank-you Lena for telling me how to upload pics although i havent done it

  85. alexis on July 4th, 2009 8:25 pm

hold on am i missing something?who is beckie wait is she reabbeacs friend? i did not know she was a doll……..more embarrising moments!

  86. Lena on July 4th, 2009 8:29 pm

Lily told you how to upload, not me.

Beckie is what Rebecca’s family calls her.

  87. Lily on July 4th, 2009 8:38 pm

People always confuse our names! No big deal ;)

  88. Anne on July 4th, 2009 9:57 pm

I submitted my 4th of July photos shortly before I left to go see the fireworks in my town (they were amazing this year!), so they should be up soon.

  89. Taelyn on July 5th, 2009 9:40 am

our fireworks were good too this year. there was lightning AND fireworks =]

  90. Lily on July 5th, 2009 10:05 am

There was a fireworks ban in my neighborhood since it’s been so dry, but that didn’t stop everyone! I had a lot more fun last year when my cousins were here.

  91. Abby on July 5th, 2009 10:51 am

I toke pictures of Beckie by fireworks last night and I’ll send them later today.

  92. Abby on July 5th, 2009 10:55 am

    Hello

  93. Holly on July 5th, 2009 11:10 am

    coolio abby!!

  94. Lena on July 5th, 2009 12:09 pm

Not a big fan of fire works. I see them almost every night (I work at Disney, for those not yet in the know), and those I do like seeing sometimes. But the cheap ones that just sparkle and make noise are kinda pointless. I had a major headache last night, not helped by people lighting fireworks and having to smell all the smoke. Tell the thruth, Fourth of July and New Years are my least favorite holdays, just because of the fireworks.

  95. Lena on July 5th, 2009 12:18 pm

BTW, I watched the Sea World fireworks from my roof last night, and they were gorgeous. I feel sorry for the animals though. We live a mile away and still the fireworks were too loud to hear ourselves think.

  96. Lily on July 5th, 2009 12:59 pm

I hate the fireworks that just make noise. The pretty ones at displays are the only ones worth watching (or hearing).

  97. Lena on July 5th, 2009 1:06 pm

That’s why I climbed my roof. I’m very happy I live so close, because Sea World has very pretty fireworks. Since I wasn’t working last night (shame, Disney has the best fireworks, IMO, and not just saying cause I work there) I was more than happy to see SW, even if they were loud, and despite my ignorant neighbors (there’s a fireworks ban here).

  98. Chloe on July 5th, 2009 1:13 pm

Hey guys if you haven’t lately, be sure to check my blog!

  99. Lily on July 5th, 2009 2:27 pm

I haven’t been to Disneyland in 12 years, so I’m excited to go this week (not to mention the AG place!). I wonder how much the park spends on fireworks every night? I bet it’s a lot.

  100. alexis on July 5th, 2009 3:12 pm

did any of you try the game i told u about? check it out i wanna know if u like it cause there are alot more

  101. AG&FAN on July 5th, 2009 3:32 pm

It’s too cute to be real-about AG’s new school desk. The textbook is smaller version of actual textbook, and it’s for 5th graders!(I just looked it up.)

I can’t stop wanting it-and I want to look through it.
And I’m going to see if school outfit is STILL there.

  102. AG&FAN on July 5th, 2009 3:35 pm

    And one thing I know:

1.Having main role was really big deal/big part of their life to AG actresses.

  103. Char on July 5th, 2009 5:55 pm

AG&FAN – We think the desk is too cute also. I ordered it for my daughter last week so as soon as it arrives I will take pictures and post them.

  104. Selena on July 5th, 2009 6:21 pm

i know you’ll think I’m crazy, but what does IMO mean???

I’ve never liked fire works either.. they’re kinda pointless.

  105. pioneerfan04 on July 5th, 2009 6:36 pm

selena– IMO means in my opinion.

duz any1 here like webkinz? i dont like them at all.

  106. Lily on July 5th, 2009 6:56 pm

Lena, has your hair color always been the same as Beckie’s (aka Helena)? Random question, I know!

I thought that the new AG desk is cute, too. It actually didn’t seem too terribly overpriced like the rest of their stuff. I bought the green/purple AG doll backpack for $14 last year at the AG Boutique. I’d never pay full price! Their accessories are adorable, but expensive!

  107. Selena on July 5th, 2009 7:19 pm

oohhh!!! thx pioneerfan!!! .. well, IDK i had no clue what it meant!!

  108. Chloe on July 5th, 2009 8:22 pm

Don’t feel bad Selena, I didn’t know what IMO meant either until you asked! LOL

  109. Chrysanthamum on July 5th, 2009 8:29 pm

i saw someoe carrying julie and ivy in the purple ag carrying bag. those two dolls are so cute. if you are thinking of getting them you definately should. i havnt seen the dolls in real life before that. and later i saw a felicity in the new pink doll case.

  110. Lilly Hazel on July 5th, 2009 9:19 pm

does anyone know any info on the GOTY 2010 because I cant find any info anywhere

  111. Holly on July 5th, 2009 9:31 pm

no we probably wont know till fall.

  112. Lily on July 5th, 2009 9:35 pm

Here’s my 2010 GOTY idea. I put this on the other post, too. Tell me what you think.

A girl who was adopted from another country (somewhere in Eastern Europe, Africa, South America, East Asia . . . anywhere) gets the chance to visit the land where she was born with her adoptive parents. She gets the chance to work with other orphans and learns the value of generosity and compassion. When she gets home, she spreads it to her community and helps others where she lives. When raising money to help buy Christmas presents for less fortunate kids, someone steals it and it’s up to her to get it back.

  113. Lilly Hazel on July 5th, 2009 11:34 pm

thats a REALY good idea actualy

  114. Georgia on July 5th, 2009 11:40 pm

Yeah Lily, that’s a good idea! I hope she’s from somewhere in Asia.

  115. Georgia on July 5th, 2009 11:43 pm

If they make her, that is.

  116. Anne on July 6th, 2009 12:05 am

Yay! My picture(s) are up! Thanks, Char!

I know the flag background is kind-of the wrong way, but I had to do it that way – I really wanted some of the girls to be behind the stars and there was no other way I could do it.

  117. Anne on July 6th, 2009 12:06 am

Lily, I love that idea! I also was hoping for a black GOTY 2010 doll who gives back to the community..

  118. Georgia on July 6th, 2009 1:26 am

Anne, the doll on the far left is Kirsten, right? I love what you’ve done to her hair!

  119. Anne on July 6th, 2009 2:04 am

Yes, it’s Kirsten, my oldest girl. I steamed her hair, turning it really straight (what it would have naturally been if not for the braids) and it’s really long.

    Thanks for the compliment!

  120. Lena on July 6th, 2009 6:36 am

Anne, Kirsten’s hair is naturally wavy, it’s not the braids.

Lily, my hair is naturally a shade darker than Rebecca/Helena’s, right now I have red hena in it.

Lily Hazel, we won’t know anything until very late 2009.

  121. alexis on July 6th, 2009 7:02 am

Hey guys! i do though wanna know more about the next GOTY mainly because i am already bored with chrissa i mean i love her an all (I have her) but i wanna see another one

and i saw you were talking about Ivy not having clothes well what about gwen and sonali?!?!?

  122. Lena on July 6th, 2009 7:28 am

Gwen and Sonali won’t get any clothes. Thay’ll only be around for another six months, while Ivy will be around for years.

Like I said above, we won’t know anything until very late 2009.

  123. alexis on July 6th, 2009 8:35 am

Then explain how Chrissa has clothes! she is only around for six months

  124. Lena on July 6th, 2009 8:48 am

Because Chrissa is the GOTY. Gwen and Sonali are just her friends, and AG saw no need to give them clothes.

  125. Lily on July 6th, 2009 8:48 am

Anne, I guess you couldn’t get Felicity’s town fair outfit with the apron for a reasonable price? Your Kirsten has perfect hair. I think I’m going to steam Molly’s.

  126. Lily on July 6th, 2009 8:50 am

Gwen and Sonali are just like outfits or a piece of furniture in Chrissa’s collection. They don’t even have stand alone stories. It’s all about Chrissa.

  127. Lily on July 6th, 2009 8:52 am

Hey guys, do you know if you can take one of those large AG shopping bags on a plane as a carry-on?

  128. Lena on July 6th, 2009 9:15 am

I took one on in NY. It didn’t even have any purchases in it (I had them in my back pack).

  129. Lily on July 6th, 2009 9:18 am

The problem is, you can’t fit two dolls into a backpack (which will be my carry-on since checking a bag is $15). I’m hoping I can pass off either the shopping bag or the backpack as a “personal item” so I can bring an additional carry-on.

  130. Selena on July 6th, 2009 9:25 am

usually there is a plastic tub sorta thing that u can use to see if it’s a carry on or not. Plus, it has to fit under your seat!! so if u can get them on, you’ll have to take them out of the bag to fit them under… or you can just carry them…. the under seat thing is just a little smaller than under a chair, so you can see what fits. I’ve gotten my whole AG suitcase under the chair numerous times LOL. (don’t ask how, it was FAT and must have been a miracle!)

  131. Selena on July 6th, 2009 9:29 am

you know if they can fit, all of your suitcases can be carryons. we NEVER do anything except for carry ons, trust me, my dad’s a pilot, and carry ons work best, b/c your stuff is easy to get to, (you don’t have to pay) and you don’t have to take the time to go to the unloading dock (the big thing that goes in circles- weee!!!!!) . But IDK what airline your going on… SW has more advantages hehe I’m free advertising!!!!

  132. Lena on July 6th, 2009 9:36 am

I said they let me take one on. If you have no purse, a backpack counts as personal.

  133. Selena on July 6th, 2009 9:39 am

it depends on the airline *shrug*

  134. Lily on July 6th, 2009 10:09 am

We always fly Southwest. They’re the greatest . . . check 2 bags for free, etc. But since we booked a vacation package, we’re flying Contintental and they charge $15 for the 1st checked bag, $25 for the 2nd. But again, most airlines rob you blind.

  135. Lily on July 6th, 2009 10:10 am

    *Continental*

  136. Selena on July 6th, 2009 10:16 am

    ya I know right??
southwest rocks!!!! hehe it does!! My dad is Cpt. Kirk (well, he ya know, does the “welcome to the Enterprise… ” all that stuff. The flight attendants are nice too!! Except they always take my (2ce) buildabear, or (almost always) AG doll to use for the demonstrations….

  137. Lily on July 6th, 2009 10:31 am

I’m really sad right now. I found some books on Craigslist that I’ve been looking for the longest time, and I was going to get a really good deal on them. After not hearing from the seller for a couple of days, I asked them if everything was okay. And guess what? In the middle of me buying the books, the seller sold them to someone else and didn’t even bother telling me until I finally asked. Bummer :(
    :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

  138. Anne on July 6th, 2009 10:34 am

Lily, I got it with the apron (but not with the cap, unfortunately) for a very unreasonable price. I am glad I got the apron, though – I love it.

  139. Anne on July 6th, 2009 10:39 am

Lena, how is Kirsten’s (the doll not the illustration) hair naturally wavy? It seemed to me that since the top and bottoms of the braids were straight and the waves seemed to be because of the twisting in the tight braid that it was the other way around.

With her hair steamed, I can put Kirsten’s hair into perfect braids (almost identical to the ones she came in, minus the hair being like a tassel at the bottom, and her meet style is so easy.

  140. priscilla on July 6th, 2009 10:51 am

are any of your mothers doing emily rose @ home? mine wants to,but is doubtful, she wants me to ask you if your moms(wow, that’s weird to say mom instead of mum. lol) think its a good idea.

  141. Lily on July 6th, 2009 11:25 am

Everytime I think about buying one of those retired outfits that I love on eBay, I remember that $50-150 could buy me two outfits or even a doll. I understand why you love them so much. It’s a shame that they cost so much now.

  142. Anne on July 6th, 2009 12:00 pm

I have a whole lot of comments from earlier that are still awaiting moderation. Just thought I’d bring that up.

I got the town fair outfit for $90 or so, with free shipping. A lot of money, I know, but I never get more than 1 doll per year and never get any accessories or furnature (or buy myself much), so

  143. Anne on July 6th, 2009 12:06 pm

A lot of money, I know, but I never get more than 1 doll per year and never get any accessories or furnature (or buy myself much), so I can afford it. It’s still a lot of money, though. I am glad that that dress was in never-used condition – I would expect a 12 year old dress to be yellowed, but mine isn’t.

    priscilla, my mom isn’t.

  144. Anne on July 6th, 2009 12:07 pm

I really love them, and it is a shame that, unless you find them at a yard sale or something (pretty unlikely), they are going to cost a lot of money.

  145. Lena on July 6th, 2009 12:15 pm

Anne, I thought you meant the illustrations. Yes, the dolls hair is wavy because of the braids. So is Kaya’s, Josefina’s, Addy’s, and Julie’s.

  146. Anne on July 6th, 2009 12:54 pm

Oh, OK Lena. i thought that was what you said in a previous discussion. Just making sure. :)

I guess Samantha and Rebecca are the only ones (historicals) with naturally curly or wavy hair then.

  147. Lena on July 6th, 2009 1:01 pm

The dolls? Yes, Sam and Becie are the only historicals with naturally curly hair, although Lissie has a slight wave to hers.

My |< is not working, I know I spelled Rebecca's name wrong.

  148. Lily on July 6th, 2009 1:11 pm

I might steam Molly’s hair today, so when I get home with her new swimsuit, she’ll look as good as new. I might even buy her some new glasses. The pair she’s wearing have *never* fit correctly. I have to position them on her ear strangely so they’ll stay on.

Anne, does steaming a doll’s hair make the ends silkier again? My Molly’s hair is somewhat frizzy since I’ve had her for 8 years.

  149. Abby on July 6th, 2009 1:47 pm

Priscilla, I just read my channel comments your welcome for subscribing!

  150. Anne on July 6th, 2009 2:28 pm

Lily, it sure does. My Samantha’s ends had the most damage but they were much improved after the steaming. They aren’t perfect (or exactly like-new) but pretty close. I still need to do some touch-ups on her hair. I’d recommend doing all of Molly’s hair – trust me, it helps, even got a doll whose major problem is the ends. Just make sure not to get any water in her eyes and BE CAREFUL (I know I told you this before, but I would feel terrible if something were to happen to your doll)! And you can see what it did to those “waves” in Kirsten’s hair that were the result of her braids.

  151. Abby on July 6th, 2009 2:31 pm

I sent my pictures to Char about 20 minutes ago.

  152. Lily on July 6th, 2009 2:34 pm

Don’t worry; I’ll be super careful. I don’t want to have to send poor Molly into the doll hospital at a $50 expense!

  153. Abby on July 6th, 2009 2:35 pm

My mom said the barbie heads then were pretty cheap and she said they wern’t really for girls nine years old! they were for like five and six!

  154. Abby on July 6th, 2009 2:35 pm

I know AG stuff is quality but gez! a little overpriced.

  155. Lily on July 6th, 2009 2:36 pm

Yeah, she’s probably right. The AG version (like I said before) looks like a toy from the dollar store.

  156. Abby on July 6th, 2009 2:38 pm

Totally right! now they just are releasing Barbie heads with more stuff and makeup and kids don’t know that if you loose the makeup_ its a ’70s toy.

  157. Lena on July 6th, 2009 2:39 pm

Anne, Lily, I recomend you both use braid spray. It wored wonders on my frizzy haired Kit. Its not a quic at steaming or a downy dunk, but it does keep hair nice and frizz free.

  158. Abby on July 6th, 2009 2:40 pm

Id you comb your dolls hair out and keep and straghtner on 5 it doesn’t make it frizzy.

  159. Lily on July 6th, 2009 2:44 pm

I’m so mad at that Craigslist seller! I made a new email account with a new name and asked the seller if the books were available. And guess what? The deal isn’t sealed yet! So this seller told me that the books I was trying to buy before this other person came along were sold and they’re not yet!

  160. Holly on July 6th, 2009 3:21 pm

i would be so mad lily!! thats not even right!

  161. Lily on July 6th, 2009 3:33 pm

Now the books really are gone. With my alternate email, the seller told me that the buyer sent the money order today. She didn’t even give me a chance to make a higher offer, even when I was the first person who contacted her! That makes me very mad. It will be near impossible to find that set of books again.

  162. Lily on July 6th, 2009 3:35 pm

The other thing that makes me mad is that she didn’t even contact me to let me know that our deal was off. If only I was a few days earlier, I would’ve gotten them.

  163. Lilly Hazel on July 6th, 2009 3:45 pm

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay i found a GREAT Lindsey fo 35$

  164. Lily on July 6th, 2009 3:46 pm

If it’s the opening bid on eBay, tough luck. If it’s on Craigslist, hop on it fast or you’ll end up as mad as a hornet like me.

  165. Abby on July 6th, 2009 3:49 pm

Thats terrible Lily! she needs to let you know that kinda stuff. last night, my mom had an auction ending on eBay and our wireless quit and I was like, mom can’t you wait until tomorrow? and she said, NO! my auction ends today! so my dad and brother stayed home and I went with my mom to my neighbors to use there internet. it was kinda dumb because when my mom went to our neighbprs they wern’t home so we went home and our wireless worked! strange huh? you know its been like forever since I’ve typed such a long message. OH! and I compleated one of my goals_ and three times! it was get at least one AG doll to enjoy the summer with. so, I got Rebecca, Samantha, and Nellie.

  166. Lily on July 6th, 2009 3:57 pm

    That’s funny, Abby!

I hate being in this kind of mood when I’m leaving on a vacation tomorrow. I wanted the books badly, but the seller’s behavior is what has made me hopping mad. Sure, just ignore the person who was going to buy the books first! They won’t care!

  167. Abby on July 6th, 2009 4:07 pm

Aww leaving for vacation in a bad mood? I hate that!

  168. Lily on July 6th, 2009 4:16 pm

And I hate the seller. I haven’t been so mad and let down in a very long time. I wish I could teleport to her house, take the books I wanted, and leave cash for them. She didn’t even give me a chance.

  169. Chloe on July 6th, 2009 4:54 pm

Guys please check out my blog!

  170. chrysanthamum on July 6th, 2009 5:29 pm

    thats awful lilly.
    my only suggestion is amazon.com.

  171. Lily on July 6th, 2009 5:40 pm

The problem with Amazon is you have to pay $3.99 shipping per book with no combined shipping. Thank you for the suggestion, though.

  172. Lily on July 6th, 2009 6:34 pm

Now the seller is telling me that she never got pretty much all of my emails when they’re in my sent folder! What a mess!

  173. Holly on July 6th, 2009 6:49 pm

thats really dumb! i mean seriously, what happened to the saying ”1st come, 1st served”?

  174. Lily on July 6th, 2009 7:10 pm

I know. I’m hoping she’ll realize it was her fault and she’ll let me buy the books instead.

  175. Holly on July 6th, 2009 7:15 pm

    i would hope so 2

  176. Lily on July 6th, 2009 7:51 pm

I just heard back from her and she says she never got any of the emails I sent and that she can’t sell the books to me becasue she does not go back on her word. I’m so sad! Oh well . . . it’s over and time to move on.

  177. Anne on July 6th, 2009 8:16 pm

    That’s too bad, Lily.

  178. Lilly Hazel on July 6th, 2009 8:33 pm

what books were you looking for

  179. Lily on July 6th, 2009 8:41 pm

    Nancy Drew, my favorite series.

  180. Lena on July 6th, 2009 9:18 pm

Nice. I have the rewritten ones and the originals. I love them all so much, 2 shelfs are covered with them in my room.

  181. Lily on July 6th, 2009 9:40 pm

In a last ditch effort to get the books, I told the seller to let the buyer know that I’d pay $60 for 30 books. It probably won’t work, but I’m very desperate.

  182. pioneerfan04 on July 6th, 2009 10:14 pm

    i am so sorry lily.

  183. Lily on July 6th, 2009 10:31 pm

Thanks for the support, guys. I know that if you could turn back time for me, you would!

  184. Sara on July 6th, 2009 10:53 pm

One of my friends loves the originals. I have 1. I saw the movie.

  185. chrysanthamum on July 6th, 2009 11:45 pm

thats true about amazon unless its the items with free shipping (if you buy 25 dollars or more).

  186. alexis on July 7th, 2009 5:49 am

Hey! I am hosting an AmericanGirl party next week and need tips

    >hairstyles

    >ect.

but it must relate to ag!

    thanx  :-) ;-)

  187. Lena on July 7th, 2009 7:08 am

There’s a historical party book that AG used to make, you can find it in most libraries.

  188. Selena on July 7th, 2009 7:45 am

i’m about to leave for the lake…
tty saturday!!!!! (I’ll try to come on the iphone, but it’s kinda hard…. (there’s no computer at my g-parents lake house) bye!

  189. priscilla on July 7th, 2009 10:20 am

    selena,have fun! p.s. u hav an iphone? ugh…i geuss i’m the only 12 year old girl in america hat does’nt have a cell phone. (i know,drama queen.lol)

  190. Lena on July 7th, 2009 10:22 am

Priscilla, I didn’t get one until I was 13 (only a few years ago), so don’t feel bad.

  191. Holly on July 7th, 2009 10:26 am

ive got my first cell phone in either the 3rd or 2nd grade… pretty sure it was in 3rd. for easter

  192. Abby on July 7th, 2009 10:45 am

I just got my Cellphone this winter. its awesome!

  193. Lena on July 7th, 2009 11:01 am

Way to mae Priscilla fell better.

Cell phones aren’t that great. I never really use mine, except to call my dad to pic me up (which will end soon, getting a car for my birthday) or to call one of my friends and tell them I’ll be late for whatever. Otherwise I use my home phone.

  194. alexis on July 7th, 2009 11:33 am

Hello? I still need more ideas for my party! LOL I think Lena is the only one who answered!

  195. Lena on July 7th, 2009 11:49 am

Well, I have the AG cooing studios, they have party ideas in the bac. I can give you some if you want.

  196. Holly on July 7th, 2009 12:05 pm

priscilla, its actually better to wait. at least ull b more responsible and know more about it. when i got my 1st 1, i didnt know how to work it. it took me 4EVER to figure it out.
that way if u wait, u can wait till a super cool phone comes out u really like.

  197. Anne on July 7th, 2009 2:18 pm

I don’t really care about phones and such – I didn’t get mine until last September, when I had been 14 for a month or two. My parents only got me one because I started my homeschooling then and I was away from my parents in different places every day (not just a school building). They also liked that they only had to spend $20 or so on it because of some phone plan. My phone isn’t super fancy or anything, but it’s not “primitiave” or anything, either, and it gets the job done. Previously, I just borrowed a phone form one of my parents whenever I needed to, which wasn’t that often, but I was everywhere this past schoolyear and the phone rreally came in handy. But Lena is right – phones aren’t that awesome.

I much prefer other items…like dolls… :)

Speaking of dolls, my dirndl for Kirsten came today. I absolutely love it. It is one of those outfits that are more attractive in real life.

  199. Anne on July 7th, 2009 2:25 pm

I got an AG uncatalogued in the mail today – my first one since that issue with JLY dolls camping on the cover. It has Rebecca on the cover. Anyone else get it?

Also, I got my first issue of my year-long subscription to Old House magazine. My mom got me a 1-year subscription as a birthday surprise. I always liked flipping through the issues at Whole Foods. As I mentioned earlier, I love in old houses (and live in one), so Old House is really my type of mag.

  200. Holly on July 7th, 2009 2:39 pm

    i got 1 to anne.

  201. Lena on July 7th, 2009 2:53 pm

    I got one.

I love the dirndl, congrats on getting it.

  202. Anne on July 7th, 2009 2:56 pm

Thanks, Lena. I remember that the dirndl and the checked dress retired just before I got Kirsten and the

  203. Anne on July 7th, 2009 2:57 pm

winter party outfit retired just before I got Samantha, which made me mad. I am glad to finally have all of them in my collection – I have always wanted one, but never got around to it until recently.

  204. Sara on July 7th, 2009 2:57 pm

    I got it!!!

  205. Sara on July 7th, 2009 2:58 pm

Is the winter party outfit the light blue one on the cover of Samantha’s Winter Party?

  206. Anne on July 7th, 2009 2:59 pm

I just got back form picking my brother up from camp. I glanced over at the clock and saw that it was 2:32 – we are supposed to be there at 2:30 to pick him up. My dad (who works form home on Tuesdays and forgot all about him) and I raced to the car and over to his camp to pick him up. We got there after 3:40. Oops.

  207. Anne on July 7th, 2009 3:05 pm

Yes, that’s the one, Sara. It’s a real nice dress, even though it is pastel (and I usually don’t favor pastel or pink outfits).

My dirndl is tagged “Made in West Germany for Pleasant Company, 1989.” The dress is somewhat snug on my ‘03 Kirsten, but not too bad. I knew it was made 20 years ago, but it never occurred to me how long ago that really was until I saw the “West Germany” part. As far as I can remember, my AG things have come from China and only China, though I was aware that they were made in different places during the early years of production. The Velcro on my dress is assembled differently, but it is hard to explain how. I like the old way better.

  208. Georgia on July 7th, 2009 4:11 pm

I got my first mobile phone in year 5 (when i was 10 or 11) because i started to catch a bus and on some days, i was supposed to catch a different bus but there was no real set plan and one day i caught the wrong bus. so then i got a phone. It’s just my sister’s old one though, nothing special and now i only use it to check if my mum wants me to catch the train

  209. Sara on July 7th, 2009 5:34 pm

Man, I want a lot of Sam and Nellie’s stuff!

  210. Holly on July 7th, 2009 6:08 pm

man, i want mia!! lol mayb xmas ;)

  211. AG&FAN on July 7th, 2009 10:14 pm

I can finally get either Julie,or Elizabeth.

    Who should I buy *first*?

If there isn’t suggestion *fast*,I will just ask again in newest post!

  212. AG&FAN on July 7th, 2009 10:17 pm

But of course,I will just see after the voting.
And here’s the doll I want:

*Does not matter about being retired.
    *Not troublesome.
    *Good quality.

  213. AG&FAN on July 7th, 2009 10:18 pm

And meanwhile,I am just going to scroll through things I want!

  214. AG&FAN on July 7th, 2009 10:19 pm

And wait,it can be other dolls than Julie or Elizabeth. I forgot about that!

  215. Georgia on July 8th, 2009 1:02 am

I would probably get Kit. I loved her stories and she’s not very hard to take care of and she really cute. Some of her outfits are cute too.

  216. Holly on July 8th, 2009 10:25 am

i would say either kit or addy. addy really has a adorable face that u cant help but love. she looks great in modern clothes!!!! especially pink and red.

  217. Anne on July 8th, 2009 12:43 pm

I love Addy and am getting her for my birthday next year, I think. But Kit is in no danger as of now, and she is really cute and her hair is easy to take care of. My neighbor has a 2002 Kit and she has held up great! This is just a suggestion – decide for yourself.

  218. Anne on July 8th, 2009 11:47 pm

She also has a pretty big collection still available from AG.

  219. Sara on July 9th, 2009 8:24 am

I got Kit around 2003. Then, that Christmas, I got her Christmas outfit and typewriter. I wish I got her waffle iron set (now retired) Even tho she was my 1st AG doll, she’s still in excellent condition!! Nellie came after her. Oh, and I got them when it was cheap enough 2 get them w/ their accessories.

  220. Sara on July 9th, 2009 8:31 am

  223. Georgia on July 10th, 2009 2:55 am

I really think they should make an Ana doll for Rebecca’s best friend. I know they are alike but i think they would have different face moulds and Ana would have different hair to Rebecca.

  224. alexis on July 10th, 2009 6:43 am

Ahhhh! ok lenna thanx for the ideas i will do that but guys i need more ideas for my party im desperate!!!! how come Lena is the only one answering? I have asked three times!

    - Do american girl word searches
    - Watch the Kit, Chrissa, or any A.G. movie
    - Bake treats from the 30’s, 1904, etc.
    - Make headbands or friendship bracelets like Chrissa, etc.

  229. Lena on July 10th, 2009 3:27 pm

I have Julie, Molly, Kit, Samantha, and Lissie.

Addy, Kirsten, and Josefina also have party ideas, but I don’t have them on hand.

Julie Ideas from Julie’s Cooking Studio:

    Food:
    Star-Spangled Sandwiches
    Starry Spippers
    Watermelon Stars
    Ice Cream Eagles
    Planet Bars

    Games:
    Musical Flags
    Flag Tag
    Clean Up Contest
    Knot Game

Tell me which sound good to you and I’ll go into detail.

  233. Erica on July 13th, 2009 3:28 pm

Alexis, this could be something you could do. Write names of historical dolls(Samantha, Rebecca, Felicity, etc.} into a hat, bowl or something like that and get costumes and clothes that go with the girls you chose. Then have each girl choose a name which ever one they get they put on the costume that is for their girl and act like them all night long. Like some would have to sit nicely and stuff like that. You should also look up foods and decorate each room that you know you and your friends will be doing stuff in to look like a place from one of the character’s story
Here are outfit ideas you could do…
    Rebecca,Samantha,Nellie- Victorian style dresses
Felicity and Elizabeth- Long dresses with sleeves. Princess{Rennascance}dresses.
    Kaya- Indian outfit, exotic looking.
Addy and Kirsten- Prairie like dresses
Kit: dresses, skirts, etc. with floral prints that remind you of feedsack dresses.
Molly- Red, white, and blue dresses.
Julie- Your mom’s clothes or hippie stuff. Peace signs!
    Ivy- Chinese style
Josefina-sundresses with exotic, bold colors with shawls{taylor swift sundresses from walmart).
    And an clothes from AG

  234. katherine on July 13th, 2009 6:08 pm

Alexis if you are having food, for a cute apitizer you could use cookie cutters and cut cute shapes out if them like they do at the american girl cafe and put them on scurures (the babmo sticks that have a point on the end). then chocolate pudding with a fake flour in it with worms like mollys victory garden desert and you could put it in styraphome cups and decorate the outside of them. ill try to think of more. hopefully it helps.

  235. alexis on July 14th, 2009 5:56 pm

Awwwww thanx guys but the problem is only one guest is coming!!!!! she is my ONLY friend who ? american girl dolls!

  236. alexis on July 14th, 2009 5:57 pm

    P.s. Katherine,
    luv the idea

    Lena,
do any of the games work for two peaople???

  237. alexis on July 14th, 2009 5:57 pm

    whoops spelled people wrongLOL

  238. Lena on July 14th, 2009 8:34 pm

The cleanup contest is good for two people.

I’d like to correct Erica (sorry, I have to). Sam and Beckie aren’t Victorian. Queen Victoria died in 1901, and Sam’s properly Edwardian, and Beckie’s considered WWI. Addy owns no prairie dresses, fashion is the city was very different than in the country.

  239. Erica on July 14th, 2009 9:21 pm

ya thanks. Well I couldnt actually think of what they were called. I don;t really know the names of them and I just wanted to help her out but thanks

  240. Lena on July 15th, 2009 9:59 am

Victorian things would work (Sam’s playdress was a Victorian school uniform), I was just correcting that Sam and Beckie aren’t Victorian, but Victorian clothes still work for them.

  241. alexis on July 15th, 2009 10:34 am

wait i thought sam was victorian too!!! it even says that at the begining of her book :

1904 Samantha, a bright victorian beauty,an orphan raised by her wealthy grandmother.

    check it out!!!!

also how do you play the clean-up game???

  242. Lena on July 15th, 2009 11:45 am

AG got it wrong. She’s Edwardian.

    Let me get the book.

  243. Lena on July 15th, 2009 11:50 am

Pick up trash on your neighborhood, giving everyone a bad and pair of gloves. Award prizes for fullest bag, or see who found the oldest newspaper or something like that. Be sure you seperate recyclabels.

If your neighborhood is strict about hygene (like mine), leave stuffed animals or papers all over a room in your house and see who can clean it up the fastets or the most stuff. I did this, and its funner than it sounds.

  244. Lena on July 15th, 2009 11:53 am

giving every one a BAG, I meant.

  245. alexis on July 15th, 2009 1:00 pm

    Lena? did u look?

p.s. totally not tryin to be rude

  246. Lena on July 15th, 2009 1:07 pm

Um….. I did look. I posted how you play th clean up game above.

  247. alexis on July 15th, 2009 4:34 pm

Lena, I have a mission for you (thanx by the way) I am going to make solidarity scarves LIKE Chrissas in the movie they used to have it on http://www.americangirl.com but i could not find it can you help me??? my party is July 17 so hurry and if you find it tell me asap thanx Lena i trust u on this!! ;-)

p.s. if you have no luck tell the other girls on the other thread thanx!!!!!!!!!!

  248. alexis on July 15th, 2009 4:36 pm

    THANX LENA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  249. Lena on July 16th, 2009 8:15 am

    You’re welcome!

I’m on the hunt, I’ll find it.

  250. Lena on July 16th, 2009 8:22 am

Ok, this was sheer luck that I found it so quick.

Go on the shop page at AG and click dolls.
Click GOTY (the pic of Chrissa) and on th bottom of the page it takes you to, it says “Chrissa makes a BIG splash online”. Click that.
Click “at home” and the first activity in the notebook thing should be “headbands”.

  251. priscilla on July 16th, 2009 8:27 am

hi alexis, the really funny thing is my bff is coming over to play ag and go to the ag meeting july 17th too! (ok,maybe its not that funny. lol) but i have a great party idea 4 u! here it is- Tell your friend to bring her favorite american girl doll, but dress her doll up in a really crazy outfit, you can do the same thing with ur doll, then try to make both of your doll’s outfits to look normal again, using only the clothes u were using before! :)

  252. Lena on July 16th, 2009 8:34 am

OOO! I like Priscilla’s idea! I do that a lot and like it at first. Then I leave the room and come back and go “what was I thinking!!!”

  253. Al on July 16th, 2009 9:48 am

wow!!!! those are good pics!!!! I am a new fan here so, I was wondering did anyone win a Rebecca doll from B+N? I did it was soooooo cool!!!!!!!!!!!! it also came with her movie out fit I’ll send pics soon!

  254. alexis on July 16th, 2009 9:51 am

OMG i was going to do that!!!! and thank you Lena sooo much i looked there before and didn’t see it LOL i must be half blind also priscilla, i am going to a BIRTHDAY party not a meeting although i wish i was where at?

  255. Al on July 16th, 2009 9:52 am

    hey! is anyone there?! :P

  256. alexis on July 16th, 2009 10:00 am

Hey guys how do you become a member???

  257. Lena on July 16th, 2009 10:00 am

Any place with an AG store? Lol.

I have no one my age who likes AGs, but I’m going to Atlanta for my birthday to pick out Ivy (among other things…. hehe…. AG of course), and while were there… I demanded to eat at the AG bistro.

  258. Lena on July 16th, 2009 10:01 am

Oh, wait, I reread that. The meatings are at some Barnes & Noble and Borders stores, but not all.

  259. Selena on July 16th, 2009 10:43 am

I’ll still like AG WHEN I’m your age ;) I’m posting on all the threads LOL

the barns and nobles here has one, but it’s a bunch of younger girls, and we’re always to busy, and I have swim team…

This is random, but last month when I went to the AG B&B I had this s’mores sundea (oops almost put sundead lol) and it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
good!!!!!!!!!! I recomend it for anyone who has the chance to get it!!!!! (if you like s’mores and have some one to share it w/… it’s HUGE!!!)

  260. Lena on July 16th, 2009 10:50 am

I’d rather have the Ghirardelli Smore Sundae. That thing is so good!!

  261. Lily on July 16th, 2009 1:27 pm

It’s always sounded neat to eat at one of the AG stores. I hear that it’s a rip-off and the portion sizes are tiny, but it’s all about the experience. I’d also like to eat at the dessert counter at one of the boutiques.

  262. alexis on July 16th, 2009 1:28 pm

Ummm…………….. lena? i was NOT talking about that!!!

  263. alexis on July 16th, 2009 1:30 pm

OMG u have never ate at the ag place???? it is the coolest thing there honest! u have to do it the food is wonderfull believe it or not they give you a little too much food! but it is sooo good we go once every summer i have been twice! your dolls each get their own little chair that hooks on to the table and a plate with a matching cup!!!!

  264. alexis on July 16th, 2009 1:31 pm

    p.s. it is NOT a rip-off!

  265. Lily on July 16th, 2009 3:12 pm

Since we’re always on a family vacation when we visit the AG stores and the food is expensive for 4 people, the most I can hope for is the dessert counter. Thank you for setting the record straight, Alexis!

  266. Lena on July 16th, 2009 5:32 pm

Well, considering I work at a place where eating at a restaurant costs 25-30$ PER PERSON, 14.50 seems cheap to me.

  267. Lena on July 16th, 2009 5:38 pm

BTW, I’m eating a $7 sundae from the Ghirardelli in Downtown Disney. No wonder I never eat these.

  268. Lily on July 16th, 2009 5:48 pm

At the American Girl Places, it’s $19-24. You’re right, $14.50 isn’t that bad compared to some of the Disney eateries. I should know; I was at Disneyland last week. We ate at a relatively inexpensive burger joint in California Adventure for about $10 apiece and the food tasted like it had been sitting out for awhile. I imagine the fancy sit down restaurants like Ariel’s Grotto were far more expensive.

Enjoy your sundae, Lena! Do you get an employee’s discount or something?

  269. Lena on July 16th, 2009 6:16 pm

Not at Ghirardelli. Its the fancy sit down restaurants at disney that cost about 30$ per meal with dessert. Fast food is about 15, including drink and dessert.

  270. Lena on July 16th, 2009 6:17 pm

I mean, I have no discount at Ghirardelli, but I do have one elsewhere in Dowtown Disney. And if I do have one, I’ve never used it. I should try it next time.

  271. Lily on July 16th, 2009 6:35 pm

All amusement parks rob you blind, don’t they? Six Flags, Disneyland . . . I forgot another. Airports rob you blind as well. At the airport I flew into, sandwiches were $10. No meal, just a sandwich in plastic wrap. Rip-off! Needless to say, we chose McDonalds (still more expensive than normal).

  272. Lena on July 16th, 2009 7:48 pm

Universal has expensive food… so does Sea World.

Airports are a ripoff. They don’t let you bring in food, so you have no choice but to buy theirs. This is why I always bring ramen with me, then ask for a hot water (which is free here, other places I’ve paid a dollar for it)

  273. Lily on July 16th, 2009 8:02 pm

Yes, Universal Studios was the one I forgot. Their burgers were better than Dinseyland Califorinia Adventure’s, though still just as expensive. I’m itching for fast food right now. The 5 days I was on vacation, all I ate was fast food and it’s a bit of a tough transition having to drink water with every meal again instead of coke.

  274. Selena on July 16th, 2009 8:47 pm

    LOL that’s funny!!!!!

My dad’s a pilot (as you know) so he can bring more stuff in, but you can bring in dry food, just not too much. Like you can pack sandwiches, granola bars, fruit, etc; just not anything liquidy

  275. Selena on July 16th, 2009 8:52 pm

I feel bad, one time when I was 9.. I think, maybe 10, I went to a bday party at Universal, and we ate at that all-star sports place, which is a HORRIBLE rip off, like normal mcdonald (*gag*) ’s stuff, for $20, but it was pretty good, I hadn’t had a burger in a while… then the next morning for breakfast we ate at our hotel, (which was stupid b/c we lived 20 min away) and I had french toast, b/c I though it was that stuff w/ icing and cinnamon… boy was I wrong!!!! I piece of bread with DISGUSTING scramble eggs in it… and I don’t even want to know what it cost!!!!! So I didn’t eat… which was I good thing, b/c after we rode the dr.suess (spelling??) rides, we went on The Hulk, which was really awsome, but one of my friends faces literally turned green… (I love the Hulk btw… and dueling dragons… we rode each color exactly 10 times!!! LOL )

  276. Lena on July 16th, 2009 10:05 pm

I’ve been on each Dragon 17 times. Yeah, I kept count.

I’e been on Hulk less, but I did manage to get 2 friends who HATE rollercoasters on it.

  277. Lily on July 16th, 2009 10:25 pm

The Universal I’m talking about is the one in California, with rides like Jurassic Park and The Mummy. But of course, the food is a rip-off at all locations.

  278. Lena on July 16th, 2009 10:32 pm

    Florida has both those rides.

Of course all theme park food is a rip off. That’s why I love the little card I have that says “Disney Emplyee”. It gets me discounts on most “counter service” meals.

  279. Lily on July 16th, 2009 11:12 pm

California doesn’t have The Hulk, so I thought that Florida might not have the other two. Yep, I bet you love that Disney employee discount card! :)

  280. alexis on July 17th, 2009 6:08 am

Thanx again Lena! today I am inviting my guest ove to help decorate at 1:30 (my time) thanx!!!!!!!

  281. Lena on July 17th, 2009 6:35 am

    You’re welcome Alexis!

Yes, Lily….. that little card it a lifesaver….. also, I have free parking when I go to Disney for fun (I park in the back when at work)

  282. AG FAN on July 17th, 2009 10:56 am

  283. Grace on July 17th, 2009 2:52 pm

I love the photos from Lilly! The set up is beautiful! And about Anne’s photos… How did you get Kirsten’s hair so straight?! I thought that if you used straighteners that the doll’s hair frizzled…?
