Doll Diaries Dolloween Parade Starts This Week

bitty-halloween

In the past years we have had a Doll Diaries Dolloween Parade showcasing dolls of all kinds dressed up and ready for a Halloween costume party. This year I am hoping to have it set up so you can upload your own Dolloween photos directly and don’t have to wait for me to get them posted. (I am a busy gal, you know!)

So start getting your dolls ready for the parade. Any doll (American Girl, Barbie, Tonner, Madame Alexander, etc) or bear (Webkinz, Build a Bear, Gund, etc) that is decked out for Halloween is invited to participate!

Stay tuned for details – I hope to have the page set up by mid-week.

And there may will be prizes for the best photos! I have a few goodies in my secret American Girl stash that I will be giving away (will announce prizes when I announce the start of photo submission) and if there are any doll related vendors that want to donate a prize to our contest, we’d love to showcase your product!

If you enjoyed this post, please consider leaving a comment, liking us on Facebook, or subscribing to the RSS feed updates via email or a Feedreader. Thanks!

guys!!! go TO THE AMERICANGIRL WEBSITE EVERYTHING IS DIFFERENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Anne says:

One of my friends is taking the PSAT tomorrow. Good luck to you both!

Today is my dad’s birthday, but we are celebrating it this weekend.

  3. Lena says:

Happy birthday to your dad, Anne.

My Red Riding Hood costume came today! Its so adorable, and very well made. I recomend My Pink Planet to all of you guys.

I’ll take my pictures at twilight, I want that creepy Twilight feel to them.

  4. Lena says:

I want that creepy twilighty feel to them.

  5. Lily says:

Hey, Lena! It seems like we’re never on at the same time anymore.

  6. Lena says:

I’ve been working the last few days, and dance and taekwondo and all the bleh. So I haven’t been on much.

  7. Lena says:

    *that bleh*

  8. Lily says:

For anyone who cares, I will be listing a TON of stuff on eBay this week.

  9. Lily says:

Remember how I sent Char photos of the My Twinn dolls wearing those handmade colonial dresses? Well, I now have six MT dolls so I’m ordering 2-3 more dresses. I can’t wait. It’s been too long.

  10. Lena says:

Cool! I think this ridding hood cloak will work well instead of Lissie’s cloak, since I’m starting on Colonial & WWII this comming year. It looks exactly like it, the same length and all. I’m just not sure if I should get the official AG cloak now, or leave it alone and use this one. What do you think?

  11. Lily says:

I wouldn’t pay the extra $5-7 on shipping to buy it individually now. I’m still kicking myself over selling Felicity’s cape a couple months ago. It only went for $5.50.

  12. Anne says:

Why do you think it went for so little?

So you won the costume, Lena? Cool! If you care about the AG brand then get the cloak, but if not, use the one you have instead, if you feel it is similar enough to the original one (and it sounds like it is).

  13. Lena says:

That’s what I was thinking. I mean, why pay more for a thiner (I felt it in Atlanta… wow, that thing is thin) version of what I already have? They are identical except for the longer ties on the Pink Planet one and the thickness. Thanks!

  14. Lena says:

    Yeah, I won the contest.

  15. Anne says:

I have read that the ends of Felicity’s cloak fray because they are unfinished. Did the ends seem finished to you? I will probably get all of the doll coats/jackets/cloaks eventually, as well as some important accessories to make (display) period rooms/spaces for each of them (probably combining Samantha and Nellie, though) eventually, but not for now. I still owe my parents some money and am in the process of buying all of Addy’s retired dresses (1 down, 5 to go, I believe) and my brother’s birthday is coming up so I have to get him some stuff, too (we are really close, so that’s probably why we buy each other a lot of birthday presents, though I get him more because he is younger and earns less money).

  16. Lily says:

Yes, the ends of the cloak did fray. I had to trim a few strands here and there. I think the reason why it went for so little is because I mentioned that there was a very, very small pale black stain on part of it. It wasn’t a big deal and even took me awhile to notice.

  17. Anne says:

    That’s too bad.

  18. Lena says:

The ends of my cloak are unfinished too…. guess I’m lucky they are very long! Or I could just dip them in wax….

  19. Lily says:

    Fraycheck works like a charm.

  20. Brittany says:

My cloak had frayed ends as well; my dad dipped them in wax and it worked like a charm! (:
Good luck on the PSAT Lily! Some kids at my school are taking it tomorrow also. (:

  21. Sara says:

Guess wat! We won our soccer game!!!!!!!! 9-0!!!!!!!!!! And it was cold!!!!!!

  22. pioneerfan04 says:

    ^^Congrats Sara!!!!

Well, I don’t have any official costumes for my dolls, so I guess being my lame-o self I’ll dress them up as each other. :P Except for Ruthie…. I’ll dress her up as a princess somehow.

    Kirsten will be Molly
    Nellie will be Sam
    Nicki will be Kirsten
    Ruthie will be a princess
    Mia will be Nicki
    Sam will be Beckie
Molly will be a neighbor giving out candy
    Beckie will be Ruthie

    So, yup.

  23. pioneerfan04 says:

Is anyone working on a story??????? Like, remember back in January everyone said they were writing books and stuff. I just wanted to know if anyone was still working on their “stories”.

  24. Lena says:

I’m still working on mine, its just I’m working on plot and characters right now, so I’d rather not share it until I have my final draft. Then I’ll start chapter one.

  25. Lily says:

Me? Not so much. Once school started, that flew out the window.

  26. Brittany says:

Im dressing up all of my dolls as rockettes! (:

  27. Bubbles says:

Wow! Not busy on this post!

  28. Sara says:

    Hello? Any1?

  29. Sarah says:

Hey Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i need help who should i get chrissa gwen os sonli and who should my grandmother get me rebecca or juulie !!!!!!!!and an u get the hoilday special like gettin becca hoilday outfit with her can u ship it thanks guys nice pic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  30. Sara says:

Um, idk. If u can, I would get all 3. and i would get beckie.

  31. Lena says:

Sarah, I’d recomend Sonali myself. And Beckie, because she looks beautiful in anything.

  32. Bubbles says:

I like Rebecca more than Julie (i have both of em) because her hair is easier to care for. Julie’s hair is long and could get tangled. I recommend Julie to 11+ or 10 year olds that are responsible.

  33. Lily says:

Bubbles, I think you’re dead wrong about the hair. I have both Rebecca and Julie too. Rebecca’s curls get messed up so much more easily than long hair. It doesn’t take much to make a doll like that into a frizzy, poufy mess. I’m not sure what you are doing to Julie’s hair to make it so hard to manage.

  34. Brittany says:

    Sarah-
I personally love Chrissa, Gwen and Sonali, it all depends on your personal opinion. (: As far as Rebecca and Julie go, I think Rebecca.
    -Brittany Leigh

  35. Sarah says:

thanks guys 4 helping!!!! i picked beckie and chrissa and sonli are still both who i want but mostly it will be chrissa!!!!!!!

  36. Sarah says:

    i piked beckie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  37. Bubbles says:

Lily, nothing’s wrong with my julie’s hair! But have you seen how some girl’s treat her hair?!?

  38. Lily says:

Have you seen how some girls treat Nicki and Rebecca’s hair?

I’m sure nothing is wrong with your Julie’s hair, Bubbles. It just sounded like you were speaking from experience. And I’m sure some girls make her look like a barbie that’s been through the wringer.

Case and point, if a doll’s hair isn’t treated well it will look awful.

  39. Brittany says:

I find it really hard to keep curls in. The 6 year old I babysit has Nicki, and I constantly re-curl her hair (in a safe form, of course…braiding and twists.) Dolls with curly hair need a lot more care.

  40. alexis says:

OMG!!!! americangirls were JUST on QVC!!!!

  41. AGlover says:

Hi Sara! Madeline, love your website!

  42. AGlover says:

    Hi! where is everyone?

  43. AGlover says:

I can’t beleive it is almost Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What are everybody’s dolls being for Halloween?

  44. Sara says:

AGlover! No time no speak!!! Missed ya! :D Sry 8th grade just keeps u really busy. November is going to be VERY busy 4 me.

  45. Sara says:

Oops. I meant 8th grade keeps ME really busy. :)

  46. AGlover says:

Hey Sara! How are you? Long time no talk. I can’t wait untill Halloween!!!!!!!!

  47. Sara says:

Me neither. I’m gonna to (try to) see a scary movie. “I Was A Teenage Werewolf”. I’ve only watched the first chunk of it and turned it off (I watched it in the dark!!) cause I was so scared! :) If that fails then I’ll watch Twilight. :)

Ugh. But a day after that starts my busy month of November. I have my 7th and 8th grade play, sing w/ my choir several times, go on a lock in w/ my youth group, orthodontist appointment, Bible Bowl, Thanksgiving, New Moon, rake leaves for people w/ my youth group, play Underground Church and have a wiener roast w/ my youth group, acolyte at my church, ANOTHER thing w/ my youth group, and guitar practices! WHEW!!!! See wat I mean?

  48. Sara says:

All of those are not specifically in that order! :)

  49. Sara says:

Am I the only one that has no skool 2day?

  50. AGlover says:

Hi Sara! I had school today and I had a Halloween party! We got to do kareoke! (Or however you spell it)
