Anna here! Pumpkins are cute decorations all the way through the fall! Today I have an easy fabric pumpkin you can stitch up in a flash.
Of course these pumpkins don’t have to be plain o’ orange! Use scraps of fabric to make your fun little collection of pumpkin decor in sparkles, stripes, polka dots and more!
Let’s take a look at what we’ll need.
- curling ribbon
- cinnamon stick (or a stick)
- needle and thread
- batting (not shown)
- glue (not shown)
Cut a circle that’s 6″-8″ across out of fabric.
With a needle and thread, stitch around the outside of the circle.
Pull the thread to draw up the edges of the circle.
Through the opening, fill it with the batting.
For the stem of the pumpkin I’m using a cinnamon stick. It was easy to break it off to the length I wanted. If you don’t have a cinnamon stick, use a stick from the yard.
Put glue on one end of the stick and poke it into the batting.
Pull the thread tight to cinch it up around the stick. Tie off the end of the thread and trim it off.
Cut a segment of curling ribbon. Tie it onto the stick and curl each end with a pair of scissors.
Ta-da! Pumpkins for fall!
Enjoy this quick stitch pumpkin!
