This weekend we had a sleepover party that, of course, included our dolls.  The girls used an old drop cloth canvas and with a little help turned it into adorable sleeping bags.

We started by gathering supplies then cutting the canvas (actually we just tore it) into 24 x30 pieces.  We folded the pieces in half then used Aleene’s Fabric Fusion glue around the bottom and up 3/4 of the side to attach the fabric together, making the “bag”.

We let it dry for about an hour then ironed the sleeping bag before decorating.  To make the sleeping bags fashionable the girls used Tulip brand Puffy Paint and buttons from my Laura Kelly collection with Buttons Galore and More.  It is so cool that the paint acts as an adhesive and attached the buttons without any stitching, making this project super simple.

The girls got super creative and had a blast doodling with the puffy paints, creating patterns and creatures…hearts and stars.

I love the way that this one turned out!

Happy using canvas or whatever fabric you can find to recycle and create a sleeping bag for your doll.

Cheers,
