Disney’s Brave Reminds Me Of Carpatina

I just saw the trailer for the movie Brave that is coming out in June and all I could think the entire time was Carpatina, Carpatina, they need to make a doll for the lead character Merida, Carpatina!!

Brave Merida Disney

Don’t you think she would make a stunning doll??? I do! I mean, that gorgeous curly red hair – she would be a fabulous doll.

The plot: Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus and Queen Elinor. Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin, surly Lord Macintosh and cantankerous Lord Dingwall. Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Witch for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.

Here is the trailer – and I am really looking forward to seeing this one in movie theaters this summer.

Don’t you think all these gowns from Carpatina would be perfect for a Merida doll?

Actually, I think Tonner Doll could make an amazing Merida, but I am sure that like Rapunzel and other Disney gals, there will be a variety of sizes and interpretations available for us to buy. Yes, and somehow I missed at Toy Fair, but here are some of the Merida dolls and merchandise already. Again, I think Tonner could make a prettier, more true to the movie version.

I’m with you girl! i also love red hair and her personality is alot like mine. I think that Tonner would be a better fit for her after the work they did on Rapunzel.

And I agree, Merida would make a GREAT Carpatina doll!

  22. Audra says:

She is so pretty and I am so excited to finally have a Scottish Princess (and a fiesty, strong, brave one too!). I have heard that while she is Pixar’s first princess, she will eventually join the official Disney Princess lineup.

  23. kay says:

they ARE making a merida doll!!!!!!!!!!!! just google it! she’s sooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful, sorry i can’t get a picture of her :( but you’ll love her, I do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she is a mattel doll, there is a sneak peek that shows her at squidoo.com from the 2012 toy fair, omg must check it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. Char says:

Yes, if you click on the link in the last paragraph you can see what the Mattel version of the doll will look like.

  25. Dakota says:

It’s cool that Disney is making a, “tomboy” princess. I’m sort of in the middle of tomboy and girly, which explains why my name on here is Dakota. (I always viewed that as a tomboy-ish name, my real name means feminine)

  26. Dakota says:

Kay- I looked it up online, and I saw her! I wish they wouldn’t make her hair so… perfect looking. I think it would be nice if they made her hair just the way it looks on the movie trailer!

  27. Audra says:

I just read that they are taking auditions to be a Merida Princess greeter-person (whatever they call it, I’ve never been to Disney World). You have to be 5’4″ to 5’6″, which sure leaves me out.
I guess she will be one of the more petite princess, like Ariel is.

  28. Pretty Irish AG says:

Audra, the real term is you are going to be friends with Merida. I take yearly pilgrimages to the sacred mouse god. I am a Mickeyist

  29. Kay says:

hey Dakota, first of all I absolutley LOVE your name, it is pretty tomboyish, and second of all i agree merida’s hair shouldn’t be so nice, but oh well, I still am dyeing for the doll and to see the movie, what about you?
