Before I share these great finds from Diana with you I have decided that the official name of Diana’s Doll Hospital should really be “Diana’s Doll Rescue & Restoration” or “Diana’s Doll R&R” – agree?? Anyhow, over to Diana now as she shares some of her latest amazing finds.
One evening last week I decided to drop in on my nearby Goodwill, it was almost closing time. What a surprise I had! I found these three cuties to add to my Diana Doll Hospital. Here they are as I found them from left to right: red hair Bella from Kingstate Collection ($6.96), she is articulated and vinyl, 18″ like AG dolls. The little angel is fully articulated and porcelain (.77 cents), and last is Megan from Magic Attic ($6.96).
Very important is the back view. They are not too bad, but they do need cleaning and hair styling and clothes washing.
Here is Bella ready to go to her party. She has the most beautiful blue eyes. Her hair is curly and yes I brushed it and re-curled it.
Back view of the beautiful curly red hair. It is not tangled.
Megan in her new outfit from Journey Girl. She is ready to meet her friend, who can it be? The Journey Girl outfits fit these slim line dolls, perfectly including the shoes.
Megan met Nickola at the ice cream parlor. Nickola is also wearing a new Journey Girl outfit. Let’s look closer at what is new in the ice cream parlor. Do you see the Bakery Cabinet? They are now offering sweat treats along with ice cream.
A closer look at the Bakery Cabinet, made by using crafts from Hobby Lobby. I found a glass cabinet and all the wood materials at Hobby Lobby, and converted it into the Bakery cabinet by adding little legs and a top to increase the height for the 18″ dolls. I painted it, and fixed the shelf inside to be solid and I added marbleized contact paper for a finishing touch. Since it was a sweat treat cabinet I also included colorful stickers on the front. Total cost around $10, using coupons at Hobby Lobby.
Fun Facts:
- The bistro table is also a Goodwill find and I made the table cloth for it.
- The backdrops are from AG.
- The little angel was cleaned up and placed with others like her in my bedroom shelf.
Have a great day!
You are AMAZING Diana!
TONY!!!!!! Please respond to this! I saw your picture in the Sunday Showcase. It was really pretty. Where did you get the cute little harp? I’m dying to know! 😀
I agree, Char–definitely Diana’s Doll Rescue and Restoration. Once again, you’ve found some beautiful little ladies. Bella is especially sweet; she looks like an innocent little princess. 🙂
Diana – Great finds, as usual. I really like the Magic Attic dolls and collections. Too bad they stopped making them. Love the bakery cabinet you made.
Bethany – The little gold harp is from the Magic Attic doll collection. It is from the Megan doll’s Greek Adventure collection ~ “Megan in Ancient Greece”. It was actually called a Lyre instead of a Harp. Unfortunaley the dolls and collections are no longer made. I guess the best place to find one is on eBay. Good luck! : )
Totally agree, Char! I like Diana’s Doll Rescue and Restoration 😉
That is just so cool, Diana! You always have such great and fun finds! 😀
~Jaclynn~
Megan’s transformation is incredible!
THANK YOU SO MUCH DIANA!!!!!!!! Now I finally know which company my doll came from (same as Bella). It’s been an ongoing mystery! 😀
Diana, once again you have done an amazing job with your dolls’ restorations! Thank you, also, for describing to us how you made the sweet treats cabinet. Is Hobby Lobby similar to Michael’s (which is the only craft store near to where I live)?
Wow awesome! I agree, char, the hospital should be called Diana’s R+R!
That is AMAZING!!! Great work!!
Miranda
wow wow wow wow!!!
cool! Good luck everyone on the give-away!
That is awesome! Also good luck everybody on the giveaway!:)
opps! I forgot to put my blog in my name!! I fixed it!
I have an old Magic Attic doll, Diana! I think it is Megan I’m not sure…I just picked it up at a garage sale for $5 and I don’t know what to do with her. I think maybe I’ll ask my mom to sell it. Would you like her?
Wow, Diana! You’re SOOO good! And I love the name!
Good luck to everybody that entered the giveaway!! I don’t know who donated it but all I know is they are so generous that it is not funny!!! I hope the prize will go to somebody that would actcually use it instead of displaying it. No offence to those people though I was just saying I want somebody that would really use the outfits with their dolls.
In the ice cream parlor scene, it says it is Tysons. That is where AGP DC is located, Tyson’s Corner! 🙂 Very clever, American Girl.
Ownerof5Agdolls I know! I am SO grateful to whoever donated the prize! Its a prize that cost a lot to buy! So much that my family cant afford it! I really hope it goes to the right person! My dolls would love it! Thanks again to whoever donated it! I SO agree with everything you said overof5agdolls!
Cordelia, Hobby Lobby carries more wood products then Micheals Craft, if you have a JC Moore, I think yhat is the of the store , I think it is closer to what Hobby Lobby has. I have not seen the cabinet at Michaels.
Megan is so cute! The only dolls that are at our local thrift shops (or Goodwills) are really really old dolls that are not meant for play.
@cordelia Michael’s is very similar to Hobby Lobby. I live closer to a Michael’s too and I have seen many of the things the dolldiaries crafts use. Once I saw a pair of Springfield doll shoes!
Claire M, yes i am interested. Char can you please help us get intouch with each other? Thanks again
Char when are you going to post the winner of the giveaway!! Good luck to all who entered!! I am DYING to know who won!!
McKenna
@Char- I was wondering if you got my Antique Show finds email. If you didn’t tell me and I can try to resend it.
Thanks
Morgan
Another beautiful job, Diana!
Thank you all for all your nice comments, I am so glad you enjoy them.
Erin R – congrats on the mix and match collection.
Just a quick question- Is Diana’s Doll R&R taking patients from other people as well? I am just curious. 😉
I am so amazed by your work, Diana! Thanks for another amazing post! 😉
Tony- Thanks so much! 🙂 Calling it a lyre is even prettier than a harp. Thanx for the info.
YEP! If I won, I would of given the School days Outfit to my friend, who badly wants that outfit. Congrats, Erin! I’m gad you won. Now you don’t have to pay so much for AG shipping.

I bought Megan several years ago at an antique mall. She was still in her box and was complete –even had her Magic Attic “key”!!!! They were going out of business– I think I paid $15.00 for her. She is a beautiful doll and is one of my favorites !!!
Oh yes, Diana—-your Megan is wearing her original outfit !! She is only missing her jacket !!!
Morgan – I got them – I get so many submissions that sometimes it takes a while before I can get them posted.
aww….. So sweet!
Hi, I know this off topic, but can someone do a review of the Our Generation dolls, just telling me the quality of them and if they are worth getting, ect…. I am thinking about getting one. Thanks!
ag fan – if you do a search on the site or choose the Our Generation tab on the categories menu you can read quite a few posts about the dolls and what various members of the Doll Diaries community think of them.
I agree with Vivi…Is Diana’s R&R open for other patients?
OK, thanks Char!
I would love to find a Magic Attic Doll! So cool Diana! You are a wonder when it comes to finding all these dolls!
How about DDRR? By the way, your work is amazing, Diana!
