The campers have had so much fun with this week’s Tasty Treats theme and they are finishing the week off with Ivy’s Cupcake Decorating Class.

“Okay girls, now that you have washed your hands and have your aprons on, I am giving you each one plain frosted cupcake to work with,” said Ivy.

“I can’t wait to get started,” said Grace, “and Callie, I love your apron – where did you get it?”

“How did you miss this session at Camp on Wednesday, Grace?” asked Callie. “You must have been at the pool, but we were making them during Arts & Crafts.”

“We are going to start with a very simple, basic technique before we do more complicated designs,” explained Ivy. “Pick the sprinkles you like best and give them a light shake over your plate – you can use more than one color.”

“Blue. Blue is good,” giggled Callie.

After a few tries and testing out different techniques, Ivy, Callie and Grace made their own colored frosting and sprinkles for the rest of the campers. But first, they posed for one last photo this week!

Want to know more about Ivy and Callie’s aprons? We worked with our friends at Sophia’s (My Doll’s Life) earlier this year to create a plain white apron that could be embellished to create a one of a kind apron for your dolls. We are SO excited how they turned out and have added them to our Etsy shop!!

Ivy’s apron has a Doll Diaries logo ironed on and some purple ribbon trim. For Callie’s apron, I used Kunin Felt, Laura Kelly’s Cupcake Sizzix die and some puff paint. I am working on the tutorial for this one and will be sharing it soon.

We hope you enjoyed our Tasty Treats week!! Remember to send photos of what your dolls made or scenes from their week at camp to team@dolldiaries.com. Check back later this weekend for the Camp Memories post and the announcement for the last week of Camp Doll Diaries theme.
