I found the most adorable solar powered lamps at my dollar store and I knew I had to take one home and personalize it for my dolls room. You can easily transform these inexpensive working lamps into a great doll accessory in just a matter of minutes!

To create your own you will need:

  • A Garden Solar “Table Light” (I bought mine at Dollarama here in Canada)
  • Lace ribbon (I bought mine for $3.00 at Walmart)
  • Scissors
  • A Glue Gun or Glue dots
  • Button’s and gem stickers

Step 1- Assemble all your supplies and take the shade off of the lamp. If you are using a glue gun plug it in to heat it up.   Unwrap the lace from the spool and wrap it around the bottom of the lamp shade over lapping it slightly where the ends will meet. Use your scissors to cut that piece from the roll of lace.

Step 2- Wrap the lace around the top of the lamp shade an repeat step one.

Step 3- Use your glue and leave a dot along the bottom edge of your lamp shade. Press the cut lace piece into the glue and continue adding glue as you wrap your lace tightly around the bottom of the lamp shade.

Step 4- Repeat these steps on the top of the lamp shade. Make sure you start wrapping the lace in the same place on the shade only higher then the first one so that the seams line up.

Step 5- Glue your gem sticker to the button you have chosen to decorate your lamp with, then glue into place where ever you would like on your lamp shade.

Step 6- Replace the lamp shade on your lamp and move it into your dolls room. Decorate your dolls room or scene as you see fit! I hope you have fun making your own Shabby Chic Table Lamp for your dolls room!
