Karen here and I found some fun bakery themed scrapbook paper at Michael’s the craft store and it is the perfect print size for the mini dolls. I knew that if I brought it home I could make a mini doll bakery play set. Here is how you can use a 33 cent piece of scrap book paper and create a fun and portable bakery for your mini dolls.

You will need:

  • Shoe box
  • 1 piece of bakery themed scrap book paper from Michael’s the craft store
  • 1 piece of coordinating scrap book paper
  • 2 sheets of construction paper for the flooring
  •  Recycled cardboard cracker, cereal or granola bar boxes
  • Duck Tape
  • Glue Stick
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Marker

Step 1- Assemble all your supplies. Open your shoe box and measure with your ruler the back of the box. This will be the bakery wall.  Use your non bakery themed scrapbook paper for this part of the project. Use your glue stick to hold the paper in to place.

Step 2- Use your ruler and measure your granola or cracker box to create a counter for your bakery. I measured 4 inches on each side, used the ruler to create a cutting line and then used my scissors to cut along the line. Save the remaining cardboard for the menu board.

step 3- Use your Duck Tape to cover the sides and top of your box which is now going to be your display counter. Leave the front exposed. Measure and cut a piece of the Bakery Themed Scrap Book Paper to fit the front of the counter as shown and use a glue stick to attach it to the front of the counter box.

Step 4-  To create the Menu board for the back of the bakery wall, measure and cut a piece of your bakery scrapbook paper to 5 by 3 inches. Use your Duck Tape to create a frame around the paper and then use your glue stick to hold it in place on the bakery wall.

Step 5- Create the Sandwich board for your bakery play set from left over cardboard. Measure Two pieces of cardboard to 5 inches by 2 1/2 inches. Use your Duck tape to hold the two pieces together as shown in the photo above. Cover both the front and the back side of the cardboard sandwich sign with more Duck Tape. Open your sign to make sure it stands up. If it doesn’t stand up on it’s own use a piece of tape along the bottom or a tape loop between the inside of your sign. Cut out images from the bakery themed scrap book paper and glue them into place on both sides of your sign.  Use a marker to write the bakery name or simply menu on the board.

Step 6- Use more paper to line the bottom of your bakery box for the flooring hold in place with a bit of glue.

Place your sign out front of your bakery and your counter in place and your play set just needs your dolls  mini doll treats to enjoy!
