Chrissa and Her Friends

Chrissa has officially been retired in the American Girl history books, but she and her friends Gwen and Sonali are loving life in my daughter’s room. Chrissa is the doll that my daughter had bonded with most – I think it is because they are both swimmers. She got Chrissa for her birthday last year and then set upon the task of convincing me that she needed the entire collection over the course of the year. Between Christmas and her birthday this year, she did manage to meet her goal.

Gwen, Chrissa and Sonali (weird lighting – I know) with the table, party treats and craft studio.

Chrissa with the craft studio and her llama, Starburst.

Gwen and the picnic table complete with party treats.

Sonali and Starburst at the school desk (which is not really part of Chrissa’s collection, but I think it is a nice addition).

Chrissa wearing her pjs and fuzzy slippers.

Chrissa in her snow gear.

Chrissa in her swim warmups and her second book, Chrissa Stands Strong.

  3. AGRachel says:

  4. AGRachel says:

they just wanna get rid of molly, then lizzie next

  5. AGRachel says:

    #2 kirsten

    #3 molly and emily

    #4 lizzie and lissie

  6. AGRachel says:

    hi grace, molly, ana sara……….

  7. AGRachel says:

    so Chrissa is gone forever

on the AG website it says sorry, not available

  8. AGRachel says:

    hey maya, yur lucky!

where i live theres no snow now, but there was a little bit at the end of December…

  9. AGRachel says:

the licorise outfit is sorta gwen’s

she wears it in the movie

  10. AGRachel says:

And so is the violin case. Remember, Gwen plays the violin in the movie and wears the licorice play outfit. I’m sad that they retired Licorice. I never got her. :(

  11. Lena says:

Molly did represent what life was like, in America. And no one knew what they did to the people in concentration camps until after the war.

  12. Madeline says:

    :v

  13. Madeline says:

    Sorry just trying something there!

  14. karis says:

I’m having troble with Lanies hair. It looks kind of frilly and staticky. Cane somebody give me step by step instructions on how to brush or cair for her hair, also, I don’t have a hair pick to use.

  15. karis says:

I didn’t like Chrissa. Her outfits were a little to girly for me.

  16. Lena says:

If you don’t have a pick, use your fingers. They work just as well.

Spray some water onto her hair (NOT her face), and twist each strand around your finger. Hold for a few seconds, then release.

  17. Lena says:

Random question. What eras would you like to see AG cover (NOT what is soon to come, or what we think is soon to come).

  18. katherine says:

i would love to see the 50s. i think it would have cute clothes. i just dont like that it would be close to mollys time.

  19. karis says:

I would love to see another colonial doll thats cuter with a softer colur for eyes.

  20. Beth says:

Maya the first one would have been a pac-man thing and the second would be pacman with the things chasing him

  21. Alex says:

about mollly’s stories not mentioning the holocaust- im learning about it in school. America didn’t know what was going on at all in Germany. they only knew that Hitler was in power but that’s about it. so molly’s stories couldn’t be accurate if they mentioned Jews being deported and killed….plus it would be a touchy topic for the dolls’ target age (around 10 years old)

  22. AGRachel says:

I like Emily, but she’s weird in the books

  23. AGRachel says:

    hi guys is anybody on?

  24. AG&FAN says:

I’d like to see 1850′s,because I think it was the time when California Gold Rush happened. It will be really nice if they make a covered wagon!
Or if they can’t,maybe Oregon Trail(reminds me of Kirsten in last book) story??

And I wonder why some things in AG historical characters’ stories are not realistic? For example it’s kind of hard for 3 girls to row canoe when it was really hard even for adults in bad wheather(from Samantha’s story),although it is possible.

  25. AG&FAN says:

I guess they wanted to entertain readers….??

  26. AGRachel says:

    hey ag&fan!

  27. AGRachel says:

i guess that they wanna retire the dolls with too much stuff. Samantha had a lot of stuff, so did Kirsten. now molly and felicity have the most

  28. AGRachel says:

coincidentally, i think there going to retire molly and lizzie

  29. AGRachel says:

Ya, I love The oregon trail stories!

  30. AGRachel says:

I wish that they could make like a historical Indian doll with a sari dress-( not Sonali). And the gold rush, revolutionary war..

  31. AGRachel says:

    how abuot the middle ages?

  32. AGRachel says:

hmm. my time its not 12:00 its 3 hours earlier

  33. AG&FAN says:

I think it will be cool if they make a section where you can design the dolls/outfits,except that AG probably will not make them into the doll

I mean,we can at least have fun with it and make a look for new historicals/goty/jly!

  34. Lena says:

Except the middle ages ended with the “discovery” of America. And Kirsten lives in the 1850s, but there were pioneers in the 1940-1890s.

  35. Maya says:

i want a girl from the gold rush, either a girl who is one of the only people left in the town because of the gold rush, a girl who lives in an abandoned gold town or something…
    50s would be cool
but i want some more 1800s dolls!
