It’s about time! Well, actually American Girl released these a few weeks ago, but I just got around to downloading their three apps for iPod, iPad and iPhone. American Girl released two of its more popular games plus one new one for Cécile and Marie-Grace.

• Secret Wardrobe – Help Cécile and Marie-Grace put together the perfect ensemble for the Children’s Ball tonight.
• Kanani’s Shave Ice – Help Kanani serve delicious shave-ice treats by completing customer orders before the sun sets.
• Cheer On! -Show your Innerstar University™ school spirit by collecting letters all over the field while avoiding obstacles.

All three apps are free and all you need to do to find them in the App Store is search for American Girl.  Have you played any of them yet? I’m thinking these will come in handy for my daughter while she is waiting for her sister to finish gymnastics practice, while she is waiting at her swim meets, car rides or just whenever.

Adding to the growing collection of American Girl games for computer and personal games systems, American Girl Kit Mystery Challenge for Nintendo DS, will be available for purchase on June 24, 2008. Of course, you can pre-order it now to ensure that you are one of the first to play.

The game involves solving 6 different mysteries based on the Kit stories that focus on the boarders who stay in the Kittredge house during the hard economic times of the 1930s. Two of the mysteries are the Case of the Missing Rose and the Case of the Lost Pearls. Explore Kit’s hometown, collect clues as you talk to townspeople, track the evidence in Kit’s Clue Book and use put it all together to solve the mysteries. You also get to dress Kit in 6 different outfits through out the game.

My girls have really enjoyed the Julie DS game and I’m sure they will want this one too, especially once they see the Kit movie.

American Girl must have had success with American Girl: Julie Finds a Way and American Girl: Julie Saves the Eagles, because they will be releasing American Girl Kit Mystery Challenge for Nintendo DS in June 2008.

My girls have the American Girl: Julie Finds a Way game for DS and it has definitely been a challenge getting through it.  I do hope that the Kit game will have more repeat play attraction.

I’ll keep you up to date as we get more info on the game and any of the other new products scheduled to come out in conjunction with the Kit movie this summer.

American Girl has another video game to go along with a new character ready for release in February. Mia Goes for Great is a game for the computer, much like American Girl: Julie Saves the Eagles.

• Visit Mona at the Skate Shop and answer tough trivia question to receive a special pair of skates.

This looks like a really cute game! My daughter is already asking for it as she wants to create routines for Mia using the program builder.

American Girl is trying something a little new with the release of their latest historical character, Julie; they are releasing video games, too. American Girl has teamed up with THQ to release American Girl: Julie Saves the Eagles, a Windows-based interactive adventure that gives users the chance to join Julie Albright’s quest to save a family of endangered bald eagles.

Shasta, Sierra, and their baby eaglet, Freckles, are cooped up in a cage, and Julie knows they must go free. Girls get to play the part of Julie as she travels throughout the San Francisco Bay Area to reach her goal of saving the eagles from a life of captivity. Special features include the chance to unlock new challenges and characters as Julie’s world expands, plus a “Notes to Myself!” diary tool to enhance game play.

Julie Finds A Way is the Nintendo DS release of the next game – due out November 13.

I had heard rumors that American Girl was going to take their brand to another medium, but hadn’t been able to confirm it. I think I have now.

Julie Finds a Way for Nintendo DS is scheduled for release on November 13.

You can pre-order it now. I will keep trying to track down the details and will post anything I can find here. Something tells me that if American Girl does a good job with this, a lot of little girls will be finding this game in their Christmas stash.
