What a great week at Camp Doll Diaries! Who knew that being your own boss could be so much fun. This week the dolls have tried out a variety of business ideas, but Saige still has to present her idea. She has set up her own Etsy shop so she can sell the items she has made for Camp Doll Diaries this summer.
Before Saige could even make her first item, she needed an area to keep all her supplies at hand. She used The Queen’s Treasures Shoppe to store her supplies and she has been using The Queen’s Treasures table as her desk/workspace. Saige has her studio stocked with crafting essentials from iLovetoCreate.com, The Duck Brand, Buttons Galore and More, Kunin Felt, Coats and Clark and more!
We made doll sized balls of yarn and fabric from the full sized versions. And the felt squares are just cut down version of the Kunin felt sheets.
Saige used her Tulip Fabric Markers to create this one of a kind whale tee for her Hearts for Hearts Girls and Ellowyne friends. It turned out super cute – now it is time to list it.
The first thing Saige does is photograph the shirt so she has plenty of photos for the listing. She uploads the photos on the laptop, writes up the description, sets the price and clicks “publish!”
WOW! That was fast! The whale shirt sold right away. Saige packs the shirt with care and adds a few little extras for her customer as a thank you.
Time to head off to the post office and mail the package!
An Etsy shop is actually a very easy way to test out your entrepreneurial skills! You definitely need an adult to help you get it set up, but once you do the set up part, it is the easiest way for you to sell your creations.
How did you like our week of being your own boss? Did you have a favorite post? Did your dolls join in the fun?
Be sure to send your camp photos to firstname.lastname@example.org so we include them in the Camp Memories post – and you may even be a lucky winner of a mystery prize!
