Camp Doll Diaries OFFICIALLY starts on Monday – even though we have been talking about it and doing pre-camp crafts for months!! I will be doing my best to post the supply list (and a sneak peek of the theme) for each week on the Friday or Saturday before.
Download the Week 1 Supply List as a PDF file.
That’s right – Outdoor Explorers is the theme for our first week! The theme was inspired by American Girl historical characters Kirsten and Kaya and will feature plenty of outdoor activities, classic camp crafts, and play inspiration for your dolls!
In addition to our summer-long sponsors, iLoveToCreate (use DOLLDIARIES for 10% off at ilovetocreate.com), Kunin Felt and Coats and Clark, we will have The Queen’s Treasures (use DOLLDIARIES for an extra 10% off at thequeenstreasures.com) as a weekly sponsor and Sculpey Clay will be a sponsor one day as well!! You know this is going to be a GREAT week.
A few things to remember as we start camp:
- Do as many or as few projects and activities as you wish – you can always come back to something later
- Use our posts as INSPIRATION. Camp Doll Diaries is not meant to be expensive – it is meant to inspire crafting, play and imagination – use what you have on hand and modify as needed.
- SHARE what you create! Email camp photos ONLY to team@dolldiaries.com (note, that is different from our normal address), post your photos on our Facebook wall, pin your photos and use #campdolldiaries on Pinterest, share photos on Instagram using #campdolldiaries, too.
Have a great weekend!
PS – If you are wondering where today’s Doll Diaries Picks of the Week post is, well, it isn’t going to happen this week. I am really going through the checklist to make sure everything is really ready to go for camp.
Yay!!!!
Hooray!
Ooh, I love the theme for this week, I because love Kirsten! Thanks for the supply list 🙂
Char- I follow you on Google+. Are we allowed to post our pictures on our Google+ pages, using the hashtag #campdolldiaries? Thanks!
~Amelia~
Hi Amelia – absolutely!!
Thanks so much, Char! ~Amelia~
I’m so excited! Been looking forward to this for weeks!
Eeee! My Kaya and Kirsten are so excited!
Whoop Whoop! As a girl who lives and breathes the Seattle woods in her backyard, this theme is awesome!
Sooo exited just going to put the finishing touches on my camp space right now!
Ahhhh!!! Can’t wait for Camp Doll Diaries!! My dolls and I are SOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!! 🙂

I need to visit the craft store!!!!
Thank you !!!!!!!this definetly comes in handy so I’m prepared cause I never have enough supplies to do all the crafts 😉
My doll’s school is during the summer(can’t interfere with real elementary school), so could my dolls have there (they’re?) Camp doll diaries in the form of a after-school club?I do not have a blog, it would just be me, my dolls, maybe some friends, and possibly a brother and some angry birds…
Yay! I can’t wait for tomorrow!
YAY
Norah- Sounds like an AMAZING idea (I would have bold printed AND capitalized amazing, but I’m on my iPhone)!!! I would never have thought up that idea!!! I know what you mean about not interfering with actual school, I’m ALL about “school work first”!! Great idea!!
I’m so excited for CDD!!! ~Amelia~
YES!!! Thank you I cant wait!! My sister an I am working on a camp doll diaries cabin!!!
To bad my dolls won’t be able to do the first week because they are still in school,we will try to do as many activities as we can in the first week so we don’t get behind.
Thank you for the list. Love the first week’s theme.
I think we will be a little behind again this year, but not a month or two like last year.
I love doing Camp Doll Diaries posts on my blog and you can be assured that I always link back here to give credit where credit is really due AND I put the #CampDollDiaries after our signatures.
Looking forward to great activities.
Can. Not. Wait!!
I’m confused about the 100% gildan cotton t-shirt–does it have to be doll sized?
No, the Gildan t-shirts are if you want to make a girl sized shirt or to cut up for doll projects.
Okay, Thank you!
Also, can you give me some suggestions for the cabins?
Do you actually put it outside, or set it up indoors?
April – it is up to you and the space you have!
