Anna here! Try this simple sequin jewelry for dolls! Mine is in red, silver, and blue for the 4th of July holiday this week. Don’t stop there! Get creative with color combinations for any doll outfit, any time of the year!
Let’s take a look at what we’ll need.
- elastic chord cut to 1″ for bracelets and 3 1/2″ for headbands
- paper strips
- card board strips cut to 3″x 1/4″ for bracelets and 6 1/4″x 1/4″ for headbands
- large needle, a nail, and a towel for making doll earrings (not pictured)
To get started bend the cardboard strips into half circles.
On one end of the strip put a little glue.
Place the elastic in the glue.
Glue a strip of paper over the elastic and wrap it all the way around the end. The paper strip will make it stronger and help hold the elastic to the cardboard strip.
Do the same for the other end of the cardboard. Now I have 2 bracelets and a headband ready to be decorated!
Yes, yes, sparkle and shimmer! Use any colors or shapes you want!
Glue them down one at a time on the cardboard strip.
Try a variety of colors.
Try one color.
Make a matching headband.
For earrings, glue two sequins together. Then poke a larger hole with a large needle and a nail. If you need more tips and pictures visit the feather earring post from January. In that post I go over how to safely enlarge a sequin hole.
Make enough to share with all your dolly friends!
Morgan’s feeling kind of festive!
