Molly and Emily are also at Camp Doll Diaries this week and they heard there was a contest for most camp spirit. They headed over to the Arts & Crafts station and got started making bandannas to show off their love for camp.
Molly gathered all her supplies and got started.
You will need:
- A standard fabric bandanna (this will make 8 doll sized bandannas)
- A ruler
- Things to decorate your bandanna like peel n stick shapes, buttons, Sharpie, etc
Step 1 – Unfold your bandanna and cut it into four squares.
Step 2 – Cut each square on the diagonal so you have 8 triangles. If you are working with a square piece of fabric, it should measure approximately 11″ x 11″.
Step 3 – Plan your design and place your embellishments on the bandanna. Be creative – it is up to you how it looks.
Step 4 – Put the bandanna around your doll’s shoulders and gather the ends in front. Instead of tying the ends in a knot, I used a clear elastic band to hold the ends together.
Step 5 – Slide a pony bead up over the elastic or hot glue a button on for fun.
“Wow! Molly, that looks awesome!” exclaimed Emily.
Meanwhile, Emily had been working hard on hers and used a Camp Doll Diaries logo and three buttons to give her head scarf a look of its own.
Molly and Emily are ready for the Camp Spirit Contest! I wonder who will win?
On the way to the outdoor amphitheater, Molly and Emily spied one of the camp cats – good thing they are not afraid of him!
So, get creative and show your camp spirit! If you make bandannas for your dolls, show them off on our Facebook page, Instagram (#campdolldiaries, @dolldiaries) or on your own blog. We can’t wait to see them.
