I have a little fashion fun this morning.
Fashion Tip: Keep your eyes open for inspiration all around you!
Today’s idea is from the doll world. It’s a braided belt inspired by Lea Clark, the new doll from American Girl.
Lea wears her yellow braided belt with a sundress but Grace is trying out her own version, a green braided belt, with a shirt and khakis.
She’s ready for an adventure with her hair braided, a compass necklace and sunglasses.
Make the braided belt for your dolls!
- embroidery floss
Cut 12 strands of embroidery floss 21″ long.
Tape the ends together.
Divide the thread into two sections of 6 strands.
Divide each section into 3 sections of 2 strands and braid it to the end.
Braid both sections.
The braided belt is fun with pants, a skirt or a dress.
As always use your own creativity to add your own variations to this look. Make it colorful with different thread color combinations. You can also use different amounts of thread to make a thicker or thinner belt. Try one braid instead of two. You have awesome ideas and I can’t wait to see what you make!
