Bitty Baby Plush at Costco

Diana here! At the AG Bitty Baby launch I liked the plush animals in the Bitty Baby collection, but I did not like their size or price.  Well, AG might have read my mind.  These three sets are exclusives and not available in the AG stores.  I found them at Costco, and I heard they will be available at Barnes & Nobles, not sure about Sam’s Club.

Each set sells for $18.99 and includes the Bitty Baby story about the animal so each book is different.  The mini animals are adorable and are the perfect size for the 18″ girls.

  11. Kristen L. says:

I haven’t seen these yet. I have only seen mini Saige and her 2 books. Also I have seen the pets again ( Honey, Pepper, Meatloaf, and I don’t remember the others.) I hope to see them!

  12. Sarah says:

They’re really cute…but $18 is pretty steep for a tiny stuffed animal.

  13. Emily says:

They are cute but Sarah you are right. That is way too overpriced and I will not be buying these. :(

  14. Sara R says:

Sarah I agree that’s to much

  15. Jen says:

They are cute! But like everything AG you gotta swallow the price! The AG stuff at Costco, BJ’s and Sams Clubs are usually cheaper than the catalog and sometimes they sell stuff not in the catalog or online but it is never cheap! With AG I just buy what I REALLY REALLY want! If I cant get it off my mind for a long time, I get it. I have found that its better to do that than to be sorry! I wanted Kits tree house and NEVER got it because I could not swallow the price..now Im sorry!

  16. AGInParadise says:

    $18??? WHAT? :(

  17. AGInParadise says:

Oh well, I do think they are pretty cute. I like the purple bunny. xD

  18. Alisha C. says:

I wonder how long it’ll take for these to be available at Barnes & Noble or maybe Sam’s Club? We don’t have Costco around here as far as I know (I live near Baton Rouge), so those are the only places I could get those sets. I sure do like them though. I have both a Bitty Baby as well as a new MyAG that would probably just love those dear little plushies. The new Bitty books look very sweet even if I’m above the reading level for it. I’m above the reading level for the historical characters’ stories and yet I still like reading them lol.

  19. OH, MY GOSH! I want that Polar Bear SO bad! It’s adorable! Thanks for sharing, Diana! :D

    ~Jaclynn~

  26. Oh, wait- I just realized those are mini ones. I don’t wanna minis I want the actual one! :P
    ~Jaclynn~

  27. Starr says:

The bear is so cute. Is he as fluffy as he looks? If so I will have to get him.

  28. Mel says:

I saw a set at Sam’s Club……………..Mini Saige and her two book set for $30-40!

  29. Diana Gash says:

For those that do not know, AG re-vamped the Bitty Baby collection, and all the prices have gone up quite a bit. The book itself is sold at the store separately for $14.99. Here the set includes the book and the plush anmial so you are really paying $4.00 for the pluch animal. The books are hardback books and and big, the small books are no longer being made. The Bitty Baby outfits that were $24 have not increased in price, but few are left at that price. Almost all the new outfits are $28 and $40 just take a look at their website. I do think AG has made too much of a price jump for th eBitty baby Collection, but i guess if people pay the new prices, then they will continue going up. I personally could not justify the $30 they are asking for the bigger animals that are sold at the store.

  30. Diana Gash says:

All, today I stopped at Barnes & Nobles and I talked to the employee who takes care of the kids section. They have been given instructions to re-do the American Girl section, this applies to all stores. They will be bringing in new merchandies. She said they need to be ready by end of next week after labor day. The new activity sets are part of the new display as well as the Bitty Baby books. So check with your Barnes & Nobles stores within the next week or so.

  31. Molly W. says:

Oops! I meant Costco, not Target! XP

  32. Diana Gash says:

Molly, check the book section in Costco. Starr, the animals are very soft and fluffy, they are identidical to the bigger ones sold at the AG store.
By the way Costco, also has mini Saige and her books as a set for $21 and in the toys area they have the boxed sets for pets. The pets are the following dogs: Pepper, Honey, Bulldog, Chocalote Chip, they come with two bowls that have their names on it and a book, they sell for $22. If you were looking for chocalote chip, here is the place to get him.

  33. cordelia says:

Diana, thank you for sharing this information and the pictures. I thought it a little odd that AG would just sell the larger stuffed animals rather than one that was sized for a doll. Do you know why AG markets some items through Costco and not through its own stores, though?

Concerning the price jump in the Bitty Baby line—when I phoned AG a while back to inquire why so much( including the entire Bitty line and several of the historicals) was no longer available to be shipped to Canada ( as a result of the new “direct shipping to Canada”change) I was told that AG was in the process of revamping a number of its lines and that the revamped items would be available for the new shipping procedure, as is now the case with the new Bitty Babies. No one mentioned that the revamped lines would come with revamped prices, however! This makes me wonder what will happen with the Bitty Twins.

  34. ag fan says:

Does anyone know how to make an ag doll sized 3 ringed binder?
    Thanks!

  35. ag fan says:

Pleeeease how do you make an ag doll sized 3 ringed binder!?! Sorry if I am being impatient.

  36. ag fan says:

Pleeeease how do you make an ag doll sized 3 ringed binder!?! Sorry if I am being impatient.

  37. ag fan says:

    Ops, I don’t know how that happened,sorry.

  38. Bethany says:

*Shriek!!!* I love love love Polar Bears!!!!!!! :-D :-D

  39. Alisha C. says:

Awesome! I’ll be waiting and watching B&N anxiously :D

Cordelia, I’m excited about the revamps you’ve heard of and fearful at the same time. I’d like to think that just because the Bitty Baby line has largely jumped up in price that the other lines won’t follow suit, but maybe they will…I would imagine that AG is aware of the perception that quite a few people have of them as being a rich kid’s plaything and that surely if they increase the prices too much, they’ll never be able to shed the image. Of course, my biggest fear is that eventually, even hardcore collectors and AG fans like us will never be able to afford even just a few things from them. I realize the huge overhead that a lot of these costs feed into, but still.

  40. Melody Q says:

All three are adorable. Not sure which I would choose. I go to the bunny first, then the elephant, then the polar bear.

Thank you for sharing this find. I think I need a trip to Costco sometime this week.

  41. Aunty Paula says:

    Thanks Dianna,

I like these so much better. Both the size and the price!

  42. Does anyone wonder what AG did with all of the original Bitty Babies? Do they just have them in storage? They didn’t do anything to get rid of them…
