Again, apologies for not posting the Sunday Showcase on Sunday, but I have been in Chicago for a few days doing some cool things like visiting the Springfield Dolls HQ, going to BlogHer (an amazing conference primarily for women bloggers), taking a friend on her first real visit to American Girl and watching her become absolutely captivated by the cuteness, and meeting with the amazing Kathy from the company Itz Purple (they make the cool American Dollhouses backgrounds and such).
But, better late than never! Here are the photos you all sent in last week:
From Vivi – Princess Vivi of the doll world and her new little sister welcome His Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge. The baby is a QVC doll by the way.
From Agnieszka – Matilda daydreaming in a forest on a sunny and lazy July afternoon.
From Tony – Jane (Marie-Grace) and Elizabeth (JLY #7) enjoyed having tea and cakes at Camp Doll Diaries in celebration of the birth of His Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge.
From Becky – Felicity and Elizabeth babysitting the royal nursery.
Ana’s doll treat stand.
This is my new Ellowyne doll, who I named Felicia. My mom got her off eBay for me for a reasonable price. The owner said she was debuted in 2006, but she’s still in good condition. Felicia is wearing a black dress with long black sleeves. From Alicia.
From Cordelia – Katherine and Rose celebrated the birth of Prince George by visiting a tea room near Camp Doll Diaries and enjoying High Tea. Each doll chose her party dress with care. Katherine chose “royal” purple and Rose chose one with polka dots because that is what the little prince’s mother was wearing when she presented her baby to the public. Katherine has a crown, as well, and she and Rose had great fun creating Rose’s fascinator. High Tea was delicious and the dolls lingered over the treats for a long time. Lucky that a second pot of tea is being kept warm with a tea cosy! (from Karen’s craft idea)
From Alyssa – Julie’s bracelet that I made for her!
From AGSmoothies – I went to a park with Ivy, and the scenery was SO pretty! They had this huge rock, and so I decided to take some photos of Ivy with it. This was actually by the playground, and I played there a little bit before taking these photos. The park also had a lot of small ponds by some forestry, and I thought that it would be a nice photography opportunity, but since the water was dirty and there were squirrels in this park, and I didn’t know where they lived, I decided against it.
From agsammarie – my doll’s library.
I had meant to take a photo of my new doll, Saige, for a while, but either kept forgetting or had other things to take care of. I’m glad I waited, because a couple weeks ago, I got another new doll–Laylie, from the now discontinued A Life of Faith line! She was in great condition too, even though she was missing her undies and shoes. I’ve already made her some new pantalettes and will make a petticoat soon too. I’ve also been working with her hair. I’ve taken it out of the braids bunched up on her head and managed to pull most of it back in a ponytail I tied off with a ribbon. I just love her, Saige and all my dolls so much! From Alisha C.
From americangirldollcraz – I just got a new doll! #38, Ii named her Meghan!
From Diana-(Not Diana Gash, a different Diana. LOL!) My mini dolls Julie, Cecile, and Caroline had a fun day outside!
We love seeing what you make for your dolls, adventures they have, and great finds. If you would like to submit your photo for next week’s Sunday Showcase, here are the basics:
- RESIZE your photos to 540 pixels wide (this is easy to do using one of the free tools www.picmonkey.com, ipiccy.com or fotoflexer.com)
- Email your photo to firstname.lastname@example.org (it must be your own photo – do not take photos from someone else’s site and submit them as your own)
- Put “SUNDAY SHOWCASE” in the subject line (I get a ton of email & this will help ensure yours makes it in)
- Make sure you include a description or caption for your photos
- Please just send in ONE photo per week for the Sunday Showcase so I can include everyone’s photos. If you have something longer or want to submit more photos visit the Get Featured page.
