Madelon here! Earlier this week we visited the American Girl store at Tyson’s Corner (also known as the DC store) where author Valerie Tripp was signing autographs.
According to Valerie Tripp’s website, she is the author of 31 American Girl doll books including “six books about Felicity Merriman, who lived in Williamsburg, VA during colonial times; six books about Josefina Montoya, an Hispanic girl growing up in New Mexico in 1824; three books about Samantha Parkington, an orphan living in 1904; six books about Kit Kittredge, growing up during the Great Depression; and six books about Molly McIntire, who lived on the home front during World War II. Ms. Tripp is also the author of the books about the American Girl’s best friends Elizabeth, Nellie, Ruthie, and Emily as well as plays and short stories about her characters.”
As part of American Girl’s Summer Author Tour, she graciously meets her fans and signs autographs for them.
Her table was decorated with Molly and Molly’s books which she authored. Molly is retiring this and we will be sad to see her go.
She signer her booklet and some books for us, too!
Have you ever met one of the American Girl authors? Which one?
