Thanks to Marcia, here is another photo of the new historical friend doll, Ruthie Smithens, from American Girl. Ruthie is Kit’s best friend and is being added to the collection in time for the Kit movie debut in July.
Here is a scoop photo from the American Girl site (later removed) with Ruthie circled.
I think the two look very much alike and tend to think that this is the real deal, although time will ultimately tell.

I just looked on the site and as Ashleigh said, in the shop it says Kit and RUTHIE, but Ruthie’s not really there. I’m guessing they’re in the process of putting her up!

Ahhh! Ruthie’s here!!! I absolutely love all of the new stuff! Ruthie is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS and her hair is curlier than I thought it was!!! If you are a member of AGFMB, some people already have bought her!! :-O Lucky them. They went to AGP’S to buy her.
I am SO getting the laundry set for my future doll, Joan (she’s based off my grandma). Maybe the preserves set too. And probably Kit’s play dress. I don’t like Ruthie’s play outfit. It looks too boyish for Ruthie. I think Ruthie should’ve had the dress and Kit should’ve had the pants. I do like the blouse and the hat from Ruthie’s play outfit though. So much mix-and-match potential!

Oh, I SO want Kit’s Meet Outfit for girls. Although the skirt’s a bit short :-/. My BF should get it…she’s like a carbon copy of Kit (short blonde hair and dark blue eyes)…she has practically Kit’s whole collection and she would look just like Kit if she got the outfit.
I’m going to get Ruthie and her PJs from dog-sitting money. They have 3 dogs (a collie and 2 dachshunds) and are charging 10 dollars a day. They are gone for 16 days!!!!! I’ll get 160$!!!
