Thanks to Marcia, here is another photo of the new historical friend doll, Ruthie Smithens, from American Girl. Ruthie is Kit’s best friend and is being added to the collection in time for the Kit movie debut in July.

I think the two look very much alike and tend to think that this is the real deal, although time will ultimately tell.

Awesome! I have 2 wait 2 order Ruthie until June 16th. But, if I want to get her at the AG place, I have to wait until July 17th. I don’t know if I’ll get her at the AG place though, because then I’ll get too much stuff to carry back home me. I’m planning on getting Ruthie and acessories, her PJs, Mia’s PJS,and Mia’s purple skates.
(I’ll save up more money 2 by July!)
yeah be watchful, they have ruthie’s things backordered rather quickly – a few christmas’s ago, my sister and I wanted to get Nellie’s party dress. It had only came out the week before. It was backordered until February. Nellie, the doll, was also backordered. Until Feb, also. But the worst part was, the american girl of the year (a different year, I think), Marisoul, was backordered until January, after the new doll came out, so I didn’t get to get Marisoul.
Oh well! I am just saying, make sure you know if ruthie’s items are in stock!

Does anyone know what Jaclyn Cooper (GOTY 2009) is gonna look like? I need to know before I choose what my last doll is gonna be. IF Jaclyn doesn’t turn out like I’d hoped, then Ruthie is my last doll.
Well, Jaclyn is only a rumor. I don’t know if it’s true or false, but it doesn’t seem likely. The rumor is that she’s blinde, she likes soccer, has a dog, has short short brown hair (shorter then kits), and likes biyish caps (hats)

I wonder who the next ( if there is a next) best friend doll will be! It could be Speaking Rain, or possibly Singing Bird (a friend of Kirsten’s), Marina (idk if it’s a guy or a girl, but one of Josefina’s friends), or Addy’s friend, Sarah.
Also, what movie will be next? Julie’s? Josefina’s? Kaya’s? Addy’s? Kirsten’s? Only time will tell!
Yeah, I think I’ll just have Ruthie as my last doll. She’s VERY adorable, pretty, and unique! Or should it be Nellie? After all, I’m Irish, Scottish, English, German, Italian, and Yugoslavian (aka Serbian). You can tell I’m mostly Irish, Scottish, German, and Italian b/c of the way I look.

Jacyln is just a rumor. She was first heard on Wikipedia and ANYONE can add ANYTHING to Wikipedia. AG is being very close-mouthed about new dolls, so I doubt they would release anything like that.
When Mia prototype pics were released, within a few weeks, Battat (Target doll company) released a new skater 18″ doll who looked just like one of the prototypes. So there is a ton of competition in the dollmaking world so AG is being very tight lipped about everything.
And Zoe, Marina is a Pueblo Indian girl. Not a boy. AG wouldn’t release a boy. That would be contrary to their whole “American GIRL” regime.
i saw the pic of Marina and it was hard to tell if it was a boy or a girl. But anyways it would be super weird to have a boy AG. What I dont get is that you can get boy bitty twins and the company is AMERICAN GIRL!

Awesome, Ashleigh! I’m going to Chicago this summer, so I might be able to go to the AG place, but it’s totally up to my step-mom, so I’ll have to see about that. But, if I do get to go, I’ll have to look at each of the dolls up close. Sometimes, the pictures look TOTALLY different then the dolls!
I think I heard somewhere the next best friend doll is (correct me if I’m wrong) Sarah, I know they said it’s Addy’s friend. They are doing an Addy movie, supposedly. If they have open auditions my friend Cara should audition!! LOL!

Yeah. That sounds pretty cool, athough, I think it would be totally excellent if they made the Julie movie next. But Julie is new, so it will probably we awhile.
