Another American Girl Ruthie Scoop Photo
Thanks to Marcia, here is another photo of the new historical friend doll, Ruthie Smithens, from American Girl. Ruthie is Kit’s best friend and is being added to the collection in time for the Kit movie debut in July.
Here is a scoop photo from the American Girl site (later removed) with Ruthie circled.
I think the two look very much alike and tend to think that this is the real deal, although time will ultimately tell.

She’s kind of boring, plain looking. She would have been a lot prettier with a different mold. Ruthie looks like a combo of Molly/#23 (the JLY with brown hair, blue eyes, and freckles) I probably will not buy her.
I don’t like her as much as I expected.

I AM SO GETTING RUTHIE! She looks so much better than in the other pic! The other pic was a little blurry, but I bet that if her hair is let down, and the plastic is taken off of her arms, she’ll look adorable! She has GRAY eyes, not blue. Does she have freckles Char? I can’t quite tell. I hope she does, because then she would look exactly like my sister! Kit looks like me, and if Ruthie has freckles, she would look like my sister.

She is really great, just like i pictured! She has a head band! so if you arte like she is ugly…..wait to see he with her head band, assorories and not like all packaged up…she looks so much like the really truly ruthie book!

I still think her eyes are brown, but maybe that’s just me. I also think I like the yellow dress that in the pictures in the first book better. I may be biased(?) though, my fav color is yellow.

You wanted to know where the photo was from? Someone I know took them. Also Ruthie’s eyes are gray, they said.
Ok. The only thing bad with June first being a Sunday is that means that June 13th is a Friday! And you want to know just how badly I want Ruthie? I had a dream last night about her. I somehow created a whole store or something based on that picture, and she was standing there, with Kit, and stands, and I got to touch her, and I was saying just how pretty she was, and then my DUMB alarm clock went off! I want Ruthie soooooooooooo bad!
I’m going to get Mia here shortly, but I don’t want them to get here at the same time, because then they’d be too close in age. 
I treat them like they’re my sisters, or something, and they do get jealous of one another. That would be bad, Mia and Ruthie starting life being jealous of one another. I know, I need to get a life. 
AG says that the picture of Ruthie in the purple dress may be a fake
Of course they say that. They don’t want anyone to know what she looks like yet. Oh well. Only time will truly tell.

I’m guessing, by the description of, and the cover on, the book, and the sequence of events in the Kit books, that Really, Truly, Ruthie takes place between the 3rd and 4th books, probably in like January or February 1933.
yea…possibly! maybe it takes place during the beginning of 1934. have you heard of the special event happening starting June 20th? i’m going to AG Place NYC, NY, b/c it’s close to where my grandparents live. i get to buy Ruthie’s collection with my own money from teacher assisting! i have been teacher assisting for 3 years now, and i’m only 14. just in case anyone thinks i’m too old for AG, i’m not! i’ve been a fan since i was 4, which was when i got Samantha, now and forever, i will always BE a fan!

I had a dream Ruthie came out and she was beauitful, not only that but she had cute clothing and accessories, and even furniture, she had a beauitful bed and desk and etc. all her outfits rocked too, i just can’t explain how they looked!
OMG! i had a dream about Ruthie too! i dreamt that she was arriving at my house just in time for the Kit movie! she looked SO beautiful!
Just goes to show just how much we want her, huh?
I’ve been thinking a lot about Ruthie lately, and I think I may get her sometime in July, I wouldn’t keep her character as Ruthie though. Wow, I know I said I thought she was plain, but after looking at the photos time and time again I am starting to really like her
yea…(sigh) we only have to wait 14 more days until she comes out… she’s getting closer! i get my braces off on June 10th, 9 days after Ruthie comes out! my mom said that she wants to suprise me when i get my braces off, so who knows? maybe Ruthie will be my suprise! we ALL want and need her, so maybe if we wish hard enough, she’ll come out earlier!

Yep, it means sun. Soleil Moon Frye is a famous actress (She stared in Punky Brewster).
I actually added the a onto the end because Soleil is pronounced So-kay and that sounds kind of funny.. at least it does to me.

I must admit it would be cool I bet it has something to do with the whole “Ruthie Helps Save The Day” idea.
I don’t like the idea of changing the name of a doll that already has a name. If they already have a name and a personality(?), then changing either one just confuses me. It’s like the time I tried to change the name of my baby doll from ‘Jamie’ to ‘Sarah’ or whatever I thought of, but I kept calling her Jamie. It was just too wierd.
Um, just so you know, we posted that photo of Ruthie on the American Girl Fans Message Board. I have no problem with you using it, but I wish you had asked and given proper credit first.
I find it rather unique because if millions of little girls all meet up and ifnd eachothers dolls are all named “Ruthie” it could cause some major issues.
I believe that giving the doll a new name makes her unique and different and she’s not ‘just another Ruthie’
Personally I don’t think it matters all that much. No matter what her name is, she’ll always be “just another ruthue”. So yeah… change it, dont change it, its up to you!

Yes, the picture is mine, my mom and I went to the Joseph Beth bookstore in Legacy Village (Cleveland, Ohio) and took pictures of the Ruthie/Kit display there.
But I thought it said that the piture was from Millie’s Doll Blog! she ordered a Ruthie Doll (as a business), and she took pictures for the contest! … and I didnt know that Ruthie was in display! IDK. My cousins live in cleveland, OHio, and I’ll tell em to look!

Cecile is one of the “Girls of Many Lands” dolls that AG brought out about 3 or 4 years back.
Anna, I think that it’s just horrible that people would do things like that. I could never do ANYTHING like that; the guilt would eat me alive. (I mean it, too. I still feel guilty sometimes when I remember things I shouldn’t have done when I was a kid) I hope you figure out who it was.

Actually, a girl already got suspended for posing as Alyson Stoner, so it is possible. And Madison Davenports affiliates now know, which may involve piczo finding out and fining the girl (Madison’s parents are very interested in that and now they are looking into it).
Piczo isnt like webkinz or stardoll, either. It’s more like facebook and it’s illegal to pose on it, and they do ban you if you do. Seriously, you should always report posers. they arent wanted!
Madison Poser continues to pose! I am going to write to the real madison and find out if she is really coming on (even though its not possible.)
