Another American Girl Doll Sized Dollhouse

After I posted the pictures of Tara’s gorgeous American Girl dollhouse, I got another set of photos from Gerry sharing her American Girl doll sized dollhouse. Have I ever told you readers, how much I “luvvvv” you? I love getting pictures of your collections to share (email them to share@dolldiaries.com)!

Gerry is an adult doll collector. Her dollhouse was built by Enchanted Cottage Dollhouses, specifically by a retired Air Force pilot that she has known since the early eighties. The dollhouse is huge and houses many American Girl dolls as well as their furnishings and accessories. The attic is very detailed with rafters and real wood floors. There are real windows, a working door, hand split cedar shake roof and real hardwood floors throughout the dollhouse. It is pure enchantment!

Can you say “WOW”?? My daughter would be in heaven with a dollhouse like this for her dolls.

That’s it, I’m learning woodworking skills to make my own doll house like that.

  4. Sydney (aka ILoveAG) says:

I cannot express how much I love this! Oh my word. Having a 1940′s house is the most wonderful idea I’ve ever seen! This is my favorite time period. Thanks so much for sharing, this is the most beautiful work of art. I love kit’s waffle iron too! I’ve always wanted it, and Molly’s bike, and Molly’s rout 66 accessories. You’re so lucky. And KIT’S ATTIC!!!! I have never seen anything so cute in my whole life. Thanks so much!

  5. Sydney (aka ILoveAG) says:

Yeah Lena! I also noticed Molly’s old table and chairs too. They are super cute! And Molly’s pin the tail on the donkey game, wow. It is the most beautiful house.

  6. Sydney (aka ILoveAG) says:

Also, I want to comment on the lighting. It is incredible! Especially in Molly’s bedroom. I can’t stop thinking of great things to say about this! I have doll shelves in my room, where I have different scenes set up, but my room is too small to do anything major.

  7. Morgan says:

These are all so adorable!!!!! I really want one of my own.

  10. Gerry says:

Thank you Char at Doll Diaries for posting my photos and thank you everyone for your kind comments. I am so glad all of you enjoyed the dollhouse. Sydney, the ’30′s and ’40′s are my favorite eras too! There were a lot of hardships with the country being in The Great Depression during Kits time and then World War II during Molly’s era but yet there is something magical about that period of time. Even the songs like “Ain’t We Got Fun” and “Side By Side” are such happy and uplifting songs. It goes to show that even in hard times you can still have fun.

  11. Sydney (aka ILoveAG) says:

Yeah Gerry, those times were really hard. But it really bonded family’s together too. It’s really amazing. The Molly books are also my favorite. I also love Glenn Miller’s music – It’s so homey! We live in a 1940′s house, and I just love the feel. We have a white picket fence around, and it’s a white house with green shutters around the windows. My brother and I also sing a lot together and almost all of our music is Big Band from the 40s and 50s. Do you have any more videos about your dolls? I would love to see them!

  12. Grace says:

    I love it! It’s beautiful! :D

  13. Morgan says:

    Dear Gerry,
I would like to ask for your opinion on this. What do you think about Kit’s bedtime accessories???? Meaning the light, book, and telephone. Do you like them?? What is your number from one to ten???

  14. Danielle says:

    OMGGGGGGGGG THIS IS AMAZING!!!! :D

  15. Trini says:

    I am jealous…I want… :)

  16. Gerry Nielsen says:

Sydney, your house sounds wonderful! I almost felt like I was walking by your white picket fence and I could hear wonderful music from the ’40s coming from your house. I do have more videos I made of my dolls on youtube. You can search Sailorbear37 and you should be able to view them.
Morgan, I love Kit’s bedtime accessories. The light that the lamp gives off is great and looks so adorable on Kit’s nightstand. The Robin Hood book is so cute in it’s miniature print and it plays a part in the movie, “Kit Kittredge” The telephone looks great on top of Kit’s desk or on an end table. I think the telephone is so realistic for that time era. I definitely recommend the set.
I thank each and every one of you for your nice comments.

  17. Sydney (aka ILoveAG) says:

Thanks so much Gerry! I do love my house— I’ve lived here all my life. If you want to hear me and my brother sing, type in worthymusicministery’s on youtube, and then click on my name. Thanks for your sweet comment!

  18. Sydney (aka ILoveAG) says:

I also LOVE you posters that are in your kitchen! They are adorable! My dad has a poster book from WWII. I just love how detailed your house is!

  19. Carly says:

I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so many cute rooms!!!!!!!!!!!!!! adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. Sydney (aka ILoveAG) says:

I’m trying to decide what to get from American Girl. Kit’s desk, or Molly’s table and chairs! Can any of you help me by giving me your opinion? Thanks!

  21. Gerry says:

Sydney, What a hard choice. They are both wonderful but if I had to choose either Molly’s table and chairs or Kit’s desk I would choose Kit’s desk. The roll top desk is just amazing! It is a perfect replica of a real rolltop desk. I love the little drawers, cubbies, the pullout writing surface, real working roll top and the chair that swivels. I like to fill the drawers and cubbies with tiny pencils, rulers and other things from the school bags. I think it is the most amazing piece of furniture that AG ever made. The typwriter would probably be my next favorite item and it looks so neat on the desk. Kit’s collection is definitely my favorite and I like to mix it with Molly’s cheerful collection.

  22. Sydney (aka ILoveAG) says:

Thanks Gerry! That’s what I thought too, but we have a green cracked ice table— and Molly’s is so cute! I don’t know, I’ll have to think about it more. I think Kit’s desk is my favorite though. It has the cutest little drawers! And it is amazing that AG can make a replica like that. Thanks!

  23. Sydney (aka ILoveAG) says:

I am welcoming Miss Felicity to my home! I won a first edition Felicity (FINALLY! I’ve been looking for one from the early 90s!) today off ebay!

I’m so sorry Cami!!! This is so sad. I’ve made 460 e-cards, and I would go CRAZY if I lost them all!

  26. Silja says:

Wow, what a beautiful doll house! Very detailed and well-made. I like it a lot!

  27. Danielle says:

I wish i had an american girl doll sized house!!! *adding that to my wish list* :)

  28. Morgan says:

This is JUST A POSSIBILITY but we might take the doors off of one of my closets and build an ag doll house!!!!!! I would probably make 9 rooms, even though I have 7 dolls.

Also, Click on my name to see another american girl doll house. (not mine)
