It is Fairy Tale Week here at Camp Doll Diaries. As the saying goes, “You have to kiss a lot of frogs until you find your prince charming.” Here is a tutorial so that your favorite doll can have a prince charming frog of her own. My favorite thing about him is his kissy lips.
I might cut out some extra hearts to leave lying around the dolls just to surprise the girls. They might find that quite humorous.
Supplies you will need for today’s activities include:
- Felt (Green, Red and Black)
- Embroidery Floss (Green and Black) – My fave is Coats and Clark brand!
- 2 Black Buttons
- Phoomph for Fabric (Made by Coats and Clark) and/or Tacky Glue (I heart Aleene’s)
- Scissors and Needle
- Printed Pattern (Free Download PDF HERE)
To Make the Frog Prince Body:
Step 1 – Use the pattern to cut out the body and eyes from green felt. The body should be cut on the fold of the felt and the eyes are only 1 piece.
Step 2 – Pin the eyes to the top inside of the frog body as shown.
Step 3 – Stitch the frog body closed with green embroidery floss, leaving and opening to stuff if with filling. Then finish sewing closed.
Step 4 – Use the pattern to cut out the white part of the eyes from Phoomph and white felt then adhere them to the frog prince and glue on the buttons.
Step 5 – Using black embroidery floss, stitch a mouth. Cut a heart from red felt to make his kissy lips.
Step 6 – Cut out four legs and attach them with either tacky glue or stitching.
Mackenzie is reading to her pets and I think the frog prince is wondering why he is not in the pet care book.
