UPDATED!
The Columbus American Girl store will have its Grand Opening the weekend of June 22-23 as noted on this graphic posted on Facebook:
This just in! According to the American Girl Facebook page, Columbus, Ohio will be getting an AG store in the summer of 2013.
It will open at Easton Town Center which is considered to be Columbus’ premiere shopping destination already. Makes perfect sense!
Sue just sent over this article from the Columbus Dispatch – American Girl doll store to open next summer at Easton Town Center.
From the article:
The 11,500-square foot “experiential” store will open in early summer 2013.
The store will offer historical and contemporary dolls, along with doll outfits, accessories, girl’s clothing and American Girl books.
The store also will offer a 24-seat bistro, a doll hair salon and a “Creativi-Tees” boutique that will allow visitors to design a doll-sized T-shirt.
“Our American Girl stores have been praised as leading models for experiential retail for nearly 14 years, and we’re thrilled to continue this success with our new premium location at Easton Town Center,” said Wade Opland, American Girl’s vice president of retail, in a statement.
“The mall’s upscale mix of retail and restaurants is a great fit for our brand and provides us with an amazing opportunity to debut this exciting retail concept to our American Girl fans in the Columbus area, while introducing a whole new audience of girls and families to our brand.”
More details as they become available.

I cut out that article and put it in my binder
( my grandma gets the Columbus dispatch
This is great for those who live in Ohio! I wish I could go, but I have the Miami store (Only 30 minutes to an hour away, YAY!), and Ohio is too far away. Oh well, maybe I can…. I think AG should open a store in Pennsylvania, since when I read the blog post for the AG Place in Miami, a LOT of people were complaining that AG had no store in Pennsylvania.
Ooh! It’s opening quite soon, I see!
My grandmother goes to Columbus all the time!!!!
I live 4 hours away in Cincinati. the last time I’ve been to Columbus was going to the zoo.P.S that zoo is awesome!!! But I’m going to the AG place when it opens!!
Wow awesome! I was planning to go to NYC that weekend for the ag store there, but I will have to change my plans to go there instead!
awesome!!
Wow, that’s just two months away! The AG fans in Columbus are very lucky, now they have their own store and don’t have to take five-and-a-half hour ride to Chicago! (It’s an OK distance, but generally anything after 4 hours can be quite long of a ride. Plus, crossing state borders can be VERY annoying, and you’d have to cross the Ohio-Indiana border, and the Indiana-Illinois border)
While that Ohio store’s way out of my reach, I’ve already got the Miami store just 30 minutes to an hour away, and I’m pretty grateful. My parents think that’s far, but they should compare 30 minutes to the distance that I’d have to take to get to other stores. I’ve done that research, and everything else is definently out of reach, Floridian AG Fans surely needed a store down here, it’s very difficult to go all the way to Atlanta just to head to a store. And for South-Floridians like myself, it’ll take a whole 10-to-14 hour ride depending on the distance, and trust me, I’m not driving 14 hours to visit a store anymore, especially with one right here.
I remembered how happy I was when an AG store opened near me, I was BUBBLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lucky for those who live in Columbus.
I really hope that thy open on in Detroit or Battle Creek in Michigan! That would be great!
When will the Orlando store open?
Congrats AG fans in Ohio! I cant go to the opening because I am all the way in CA
. But I’m sure there might be a couple of videos on youtube of the Grand Opening of the store
it says june 22 and 23
I was wondering when they were going to make a AG place in Ohio congrats Ohio AG fans!!!!
Cool! Congratz for those doll lovers in Ohio!
So you are say that the Orlando, Florida store is, also, opening on June 22 and 23. Cool!
Char when do you think you’re going? I might go in July
Congrats to myself! Lol!
Katie – I probably won’t be going to the Columbus store since we live close to the DC store – unless we happen to visit there some time.
Lucky residents of Columbus,Ohio!
wow!! another store already!?! i bet pretty soon you will see AGP’s everywere!!
Megan, I hope so! I would definently open stores in Phoenix (Arizona), Santa Fe (New Mexico), San Diego (California), Fairbanks (Alaska), Anchorage (Alaska), Honolulu (Hawaii), Albuquerque (New Mexico), Charlotte (North Carolina), Birmingham (Alabama), Charleston (South Carolina), Raleigh (Nort Carolina), Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), Nashville (Tennessee), Indianapolis (Indiana), and Portland (Oregon).
Or even better, I would put stores in each state depending on distance and time. What I mean is that I would put three stores evenly divided across Alaska (For example, 1 store in Central Alaska, 1 store in Southern Alaska, and 1 store in Northern Alaska) and 1 store in Hawaii (I’ll put it in the state capitol, Honolulu)
cool i think that store will be as close as it is as nyc…..same distance
Hey
Haven’t commented here in awhile lol:) Hope I get to visit the store in Columbus!
Coool!
Colombus is only an hour away from where I live!
Maybe I’ll go there on opening day! I’ll definitely bring Saige!
AGSmoothies, I agree. Sometimes we go all the way to Minnesota to go to AG. I get to go every summer.
Well, it’s Atlanta for me !!!!! There’s so much to do and see in Atlanta!!! It’s a great city very near me and a great AG store!!!!
Awesome! I should stop there sometime!
yay yay! I live near there so i am so excited! EEEH!!!!
