It is official – according to the American Girl website, the next historical dolls to be added to the American Girl archives will be Felicity and her best friend Elizabeth. There is plenty of speculation as to why they are being retired or what American Girl will be replacing them with.
If you have Felicity or Elizabeth items you would still like to have, I recommend getting them ordered sooner rather than later.

I’m so sad about this. I have been collecting AG dolls since 2000 (when I got my bitty baby Noel) and I was 2! And I dont understand why they have to retire a doll only to bring back a new doll. Is it for money? PLEASE HELP!!

i think the girl should definetly not be white! no offense but the only unwhite chic is marisol who looks exactly like me is spanish like me and dances like me its like they made the doll after me! i think they should make an african american girl living in harlem, new york who is from a low budget area but is an artist and gets a full scholarship to Julliard. so many girls would buy her and i think her pet should be an iguana silly, right?

Not counting best friends (not that it would tip the scale much), there have been 2 non white GOTYs, Marisol and Jess. Jess was half Japanese, making her non white.
