UPDATE: Since these have been on YouTube for a few days now, here are the pictures of the new American Girl Doll of the Year 2011 Kanani collection. These photos are not mine and I did not make this video – just sharing it.

UPDATE: Here is a better version of the Aloha Kanani book cover from the Barnes & Noble site (thanks AG Princess for the email):

UPDATE AGAIN (12/12/10) According to a YouTube video – the American Girl of the Year 2011 Kanani book covers look like this:

American Girl of the Yearl 2011 Kanani Book Covers

Kanani is very pretty with medium brown hair that has a wave to it. Again, these are from a YouTube video that a reader pointed us to. And I wonder if there will be a movie or TV show to go with it because it says something about directed by Camille Guiterezz in one of the last shots. Does anyone have any insight? Nevermind. That is who made the YouTube video.

The titles related to Kanani now include:

  • Aloha Kanani – Our Girl of the Year loves living in a beautiful tropical setting and she especially loves sharing the wonders of her island home with visitors. So when her cousin from New York comes to stay for a month, she is excited to get to know her. But no matter what she does to help her cousin feel at home, it only seems to make her unhappy instead. Can our Girl of the Year find a way to connect with her cousin?
  • Good Job Kanani – Our Girl of the Year is excited about selling shave ice to raise money for a cause she cares about. But she also cares about her best friend-and she promised they would take surfing lessons together. When our Girl of the Year can’t make time for her best friend, their friendship begins to unravel, and she finds herself spending summer days alone. Will our Girl of the Year find a way to make things right?
  • Lend a Hand
  • Oodles of Ocean Fun

UPDATE (10/25/10)! A sleuthy reader noticed that on the Australian version of Borders Bookstore the page title of the Girl of the Year 2011 book is Aloha Kanani, which substantiates some of the information I have read of various message boards. It looks like we will be getting a Hawaiian Girl of the Year and I am sure she will be beautiful!

Other than a title, the only info about the 2011 American Girl of the Year (GOTY) doll we have so far is that according to Amazon, Lisa Yee is the author of both books. As you may remember, Lisa Yee wrote Good Luck Ivy.

Amazon does not list a title yet, just the author info, pre-order info and a release date of January 1, 2011.
