The anticipation is over! All the new items for American Girl’s Summer Release have been posted on their site.
This is McKenna’s performance outfit which is the same outfit she wears in the movie, however, I don’t understand why they gave her the hoop and ribbon, too. There is a scene in the movie that features rhythmic gymnastics, but it is Toulane who really wants to do it, not McKenna. Anyhow, if we get this set, Ivy (our Toulane stand in) will be wearing it.

Char- Can we buy the new meet outfits seperately? I have the recent one and I want the new one.
Sharry – From the AG website: “..a “radio” that plays ’70s songs, a horn that honks, working headlights, rolling wheels, and an engine that “runs” at the push of a button.”
Ella – You can call customer service and ask for an outfit change. They may be able to exchange it for the new one, or offer it for sale seperately.

@Sarah:D The feeling great outfit is the purple tank top and pants. I call it the Zumba outfit for dolls (love Zumba).
It could also be a running outfit or a yoga outfit. It’s so going on my wish list because I love both Zumba and yoga. Yes I am very active

@Pretty Irish AG- I know what the outfit is made up of(the purple tank top and pants), I just didn’t get why AG created for. So you think its probly for running or yoga?

Ella – I don’t have any MyAG dolls, so I’m not sure, but it should be soon, because AG usually updates their website pretty fast.
sharry- congrats!!! you’ll love it!!!!!! say hi to my mini me (aka #23 they have the numbers on their boxes!!!) also if you plan on eating in the cafe they may not be springfield friendly. the woman who was putting my dolls in theri seats dropped Claira!! (i could tell it was on purpose.) and she wasnt too smart about putting them in the seats either. felicity and kirstens dresses were all the way up!!! put the doll in the seat then put it on the table!!! even a 7 year old knows that!!! (i seen a 7 year old doing that.) but thats the atlanta store. im not sure about seattle ive never been.
I LOVE THE NEW STUFF!!! well, except one thing. I was planning on getting Chocolate Chip, but now I have to pay an extra $12 for stuff I wont use ( service dog stuff )

So happy that they brought back Licorice!!!! But, I don’t understand how Julie’s summer set is new. I got it like 3 years ago. Did they get rid of it and I didn’t notice? But I saw at the AG Store in D.C around April.
@Sarah:D I think the outfit was made for yoga or Zumba, but my opinion is very biased because I do those sports. It could also be for running or jazz dance. I think it’s in the eyes of the purchaser.
i am so glad I got the old Licorice this one looks…….weird? definitely not a cat. has anyone else noticed that all the pets are named for food? plus, who names a dog meatloaf???? although he is cute….
I agree about Licorice being…unique. Mine is even more so. I have the old one, whose eyes were chewed by my dogs when they were puppies. I glued googly eyes on and it turned out cute! You can still hear one of the original eyes rolling around in Licorice’s body. And I must have meatloaf!!
@Sharry, at the Seattle store at least, they EXPECT you to eat with your doll, regardless of how old you truly are. I kept trying to convince them that I was a high school student and Mom thought I was too old to eat with a doll, but they just wouldn’t listen.
The advice I would give you is, “Don’t try to convince the staff that you’re a bit old to eat lunch with a doll and would die of embarrassment if you did. Trust me, I’ve tried! Instead, put up your pigtails, put on a brave face, and eat.”
I actually wrote that to my teacher (the one who asked me which “girl” I was “adopting”), who looks 11 in pigtails.

Ella – You can call american girl customer service and they will sell it to you for $28, but you can only buy it over the phone. Hope that helps!
Riley – If you really want Chocolate Chip, I am sure you can still get him at a local Book Store. That is where we got Praline and Honey (also saw Chocolate Chip, Sugar, and Pepper there).
Meatloaf is cute, but I think the new Licoice is not as cute as the old one.
Riley- You can get Chocolate Chip seperate from the other items, at Barnes and Noble. I know that Alaa just put that up, but I’ll just be another witness. Am I making any since?
Does anyone think McKenna will get more items in the September release?

My daughter loves to train her dog so I bought her the service dog. It’s going to be great to tell her it’s already ordered when she sees it in the catalogue. I don’t know if she’ll want any of the other new items. I laughed when I saw Ivy’s new outfit because I think I wore something like that in 1976 when I was nine.
I think it is cute and very bright.I would get if I had a chance. I would love to go in gymnastics and wear one of those leotards.

I would get her practice set and her performance set for Ivy and McKenna, one of each for both. I’ve made wishlists for American Girl and Maplelea. I’m trying to graduate high school early, so I’m customizing my ceremony. (and my gift list shhh)
